Listened to a news article about the levels of concern in Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, etc. and compared them to Leicester and Blackburn.

The expert and the interviewer went to great lengths NOT to say Asian families are the issue here.

The issues were:

Cultures where more than one family live together

Cultures where many generations of the same family live together

Cultures where social distancing is difficult.

For fuck’s sake, just come out with it

Would it make you feel better if they said "all the white people in the community are abiding by the rules, but the non-whites are ruining it for them"?

Are we on about Covid especially or everything else too?

Perhaps a bit of education would go a long way.

I’d say they’re eductated enough.

They don’t give a fuck.

Nothing stands in the way of family and nothing stands in the way of prayer.

Large swathes of the Asian community value prayer and being in groups over everything else.

Ignoring the facts doesn’t stop them being facts.

it doesn’t make them all terrorists, it just makes them all culturally different. This is usually a good thing for diversity.

Right now, it might kill lots of them

thats true

You had better tell bozo and hancock so they can scrap our world leading app

Apps aren't designed for keeping lockdown people indoors so not sure what you keep going on about them for.

Remember too, their app did work perfectly well on android. Can't help thinking they should have at least released it for those that have android phones.

Something doesn't become a 'fact' because it 'sounds right' to you. "Large swathes of the Asian Community" don't value any of that shite any more than you do. Where are you getting this information from?

From being brought up amongst them, from still knowing them.

The problem here isn’t that they’re “Asian” by the way. The problem is that they are large family groups that are still very much inclined to live in close proximity to each other and their local places of worship (not just Muslims BTW).

Decades of feeling the need to stick together due to living amongst a population that wouldn’t readily let them integrate is part of the reason, as is the natural tendency to be with people of the same family and cultural background.

Do not read anything more into it than that. There is no need.

Theyre British. They’re peaceful. They’re just getting on with shit like everyone else. But to ignore their cultural predisposition to gathering in large groups is up to you.

It happens, and it’s a problem. Just the same as opening borders and allowing tourists is a problem in Spain.

Dont make this out to be anything else because it isn’t mate.

THEM?

Imagine someone talking about you and your family like that.... Just assuming they know everything you're about because you look a certain way..... Then condescendingly 'letting you off' because "at least you're British". Sorry mate, but that's racism.

My god. (The white one with a silver beard)

Them. The Asian community. Them. The proud people of that community who are keen to retain their heritage whilst being proud of their Britishness.

Them. Muslims, Sikhs, Hindus. All different. Bringing their cuisine, their festivals, their idiosyncrasies, their arseholes, their pioneers, their intelligentsia.

Yes. Fucking THEM.

All those people who aren't like us then. "They" all behave the same because they look a certain way?

I dress differently from the Pakistani lads I know

I don’t go to mosque or the temple.

I go to the pub. They don’t.

These things are all worthy of a mention simply because they are different. They do not divide us, they are simply differences in the way we live our lives.

Above all else, the communities I mention are much more influenced by religion. This is important as they will readily tell you.

Stop trying to just find racism where there isn’t any.

What makes Britain tolerant and brilliant is our ability to recognise the differences between us and embrace them.

If anything, your insistence that we are not different is a bit weird. We are different. That’s the beauty of it. It would be a bit dull otherwise.
