They aren't a million miles from Macallan so it may be that Scotch just isn't for you. Personally I find all of them very smooth, especially with a small drop of water.

That may well be the case. Monkey Shoulder was introduced to try to get the younger generation interested in Scotch I believe. May be talking shite. Anyhow if Scotch is your tipple enjoy. Plenty do likewise and fair play

I got a bottle of Woodford reserve rye today.

Its fucking delicious.

Its got the sweetness of bourbon, the spiciness of a single malt and put together it makes for a silky gobful of joy.

£25 at asda, worth a taster.

Marvellous find today In Morrisons

Jack Daniels Legacy Edition 3

That is their best ever. Straight with ice. I’m scooping up a few more bottles tomorrow to see me through lockdown. Utter alcoporn

If you like JD or bourbon/sour mash whiskey give it a go. You won’t regret it. Well........you probably will as I can see a wasted day tomorrow....

Pedant 😀😀

You know what I mean you tinker. Not spoiled by adding fizzy shit

😉

I don't pollute my whisky with anything. Unless you're having a Godfather, or suchlike, it's just not right. I use them stones you put in the freezer. I'm halfway through a bottle of Juno, and that's just tonight.

I was told, by someone who swung his dick a lot on whisky, that a little water releases more of the aroma.

Depends how quickly you quaff.

I also use granite stones but do, on occasion, use ice. Thing is, why does nobody use a bit of fridge space for a whisky bottle?

The whiskey needs to be at room temp

putting it in the fridge causes it to reduce the amount of vapour it gives off and as we all know, smell is half the experience

Adding a bit of cheese to your toast makes your toast better. But it is no longer toast.

I prefer to listen to the makers than some white coat boff.

Don’t know if I’ve ever had Bourbon.

Except the biscuit.

It’s much sweeter, and smokier than scotch.

You can get rye bourbon which is closer to scotch in terms of sharpness and bite.

Woodford Reserve or Bulliet are both superb examples
