Whisky is the correct and legal way of spelling the word. Not whiskey.

Producers outside Scotland aren’t legally allowed to call it whiskey.

So you’re wrong. Twice.

I think.

How do you spell colour? I don't live outside the UK, and I reckon neither do you. So spell it correctly.

The spelling is down to translation, and the Irish wanting their efforts to be different.

How do you pronounce Caribbean?

Do you say Caribbean or Caribbean?

People from the Caribbean say it one way and people who aren’t from the Caribbean say it another.

Who’s right?

I was told, by someone who swung his dick a lot on whisky, that a little water releases more of the aroma.

This. Been on a number of distillery visits, and they advise a little drop. Not cold, and just enough to release the volatiles.

Drop of water to release the flavours advised by any top whiskey maker
it’s the reason for the ice , not to make it colder

These cold stones and the like just a gimmick , but, if you like em crack on, after all it’s a drink so have it however you enjoy it .

I have ice because I like it. I only drink Whiskey as I don’t like Scotch Whisky and I never add water. Certainly wouldn’t add pop or owt fizzy. Each to their own

Someone gave me a bottle a few Christmases ago, Glengoyne I think...

It was rank - tasted of bommy neet, smoke and damp grass.

I supped it one night when I'd no booze in, mixed with loads of ice and Cherry Coke - it was alright mixed but the hangover next day...grim.

Tipped the remainder down the grid to remove 'hair of the dog' temptation.

Which needs coffee

You can have cacao or cocoa with one, not drinking chocolate though.

Disregard what others say, don't sweeten the drink and alwaya make with skimmed milk. The boor-bohn provides enough sweetness.

Always make a paste of the powder before adding the rest of the milk.

Leave those trying to be Edna The Inebriate Woman to their whisky/whiskey/wisci.

We had a proper whisky expert on here until he faced the wrath of the mod(s)

He still lurks iirc.

Anyway, it's still beyond me.

Took a snifter of the malt I got her for Christmas, and no way can I get into it.
