Try Politic centrally and Bryan at the back while your at it. Yeh exacly starting to feel like last season with regards to that sort of stuff, players getting Parkied. They come in playing their natural game after 5/10 games they're "rubbish" etc. It's like our club has a bad habbit of making standard Championship and League 1 players worse. Players like both Murphy's, Lowe, Hobbs, Nsiala, Bryan, Crawford, Emmanuel etc are all decent League 1 players. The entire team are playing way below standards and have been doing for months. Same phenomenon seen at struggling but big premiership clubs. Player goes to Arsenal or Man U from a smaller club having looked amazing. At big club they struggle to shine. Same thing here I think. Ok point one none of those players have played in a team made up of cast offs , injury prone, out of contract misfits at a club as fucked as ours before. Secondly lets look at these "decent' players individually. Luke Murphy- has never shown anything for me even in his first 5 games or so and wouldnt be playing if we had any sort of squad. Daryl done ok scoring goals in a very poor team so don't class him as gone 'rubbish" and thats all hes had to do probably at other clubs- as he doesn't have much else to his game thats obvious. Hobbs is just injury prone unfortunately. Its why Forest got rid and why he was available. Be same for him anywhere Nsala was hounded out at Ipswich Lambert said he needs to get away. Manager speak not good enough fir us. Bryan and Crawford have looked decent for us, Crawford unlucky with the injury. Emmanuel again not deemed good enough by another club in our division defensively suspect there and here. I dont buy it that Hillcroft have this team playing well below 'standard". Folk were saying same about our terrible team in the Championship.
Anderson 20
This result was far from a positive. Against a very poor Accrington side that we dominated simply by turning up we failed to create anything clear cut and still nearly managed to throw the game away at the end. Sure we had a lot of the ball first half in and around their area but they allowed us to simply by being crap and we did nothing with the freedom and possession allowed to us. I will say it's nice to see the defenders and/or keeper not falling over themselves to give the opposition a goal for once, midfield and attack still lack impetuous or identity though. They were ‘crap’ first half because we were better & yes we should have gone in at HT at least a goal up. They were better second half but this team BEAT us 7-1 ffs. so I’m taking a small positive from the game
tomski 740
Saturday was rubbish. We had the first 15 minutes. We were never going to score. They were time wasting after 11 minutes. Crawford looked good on link up play but looks like he needs to find 10 people on his wavelength.

Kevin Davies did a great job of battling the defenders ensuring they couldn't get it clear and we pressed and won 2nd balls and played from there. I still think that is the easiest way to build an effective side. Passing from the back requires enough quality to do so throughout the side. Lobbing balls at a target man who is backed up by your midfield requires strong runners and one or two players with some quality to do something with the 2nd balls. So long as you have a big lad able to make a nuisance of himself up front and then get in the box and a midfield able to cover ground you could easily then get the best out of Crawford and Dodoo and Politic instead of now expecting them (especially Crawford) to come deep, start attacks and for all your players to be comfortable in doing that. Unfortunately though, Murphy isn't your man for that, despite being a big fucker a target man he is not. Plus he turns like a bus so if he does win a knock down, he still hasn't got into a danger area by the time we'd be looking to get the ball in the box. Not had a player like that since Madine. I'd agree - though I bet Big Sam would get a tune out of him in the target man role.
