Aye, but the bottom team is still within 2 points of the ones above, so without knowing the ins and outs, looks a bit harsh

Like i said previously when the non leagues did it, its premature

No need to do owt yet

There will be no football until August or September and could be even later

They might as well void the season now for all divisions

And if its next february?

Be perfect to just finish this season off

No need at all to be making decisions

Is where I'm at too. Make a decision when you've got a viable start date.

If Liverpool was not in the position they are in they would have done the sensible thing and zoid the season now; split all the prize money equally across clubs; its the greedy premier league who want the revenue from sky and the likes who want to try and play the remaining games

I still think this season will be completed just when

it’s next season what will be the headache imo

BBC says that as the 3pm TV restrictions have been lifted that it's the next step towards Premier League returning soon. I don't believe that for a second but does look like as it stands they want to cram it all in as soon as they can.

I'm still in favour (if they somehow get this one finished before autumn) of them having a massively cut down 20/21 season and hopefully back on track for 21/22 but there's still way too many competitions and matches to cope with anything like this happening again.

Course, it’s still manageable to get this season done

Finish this season when football can be resumed.
Then let players go on a family holiday etc and then a pre-season for 4 weeks.

Depending on where that takes us, we could then have a half season of sorts.
Split every league in two (by ranking rather than geography ie 1,3,5,7,9 ranked in League A & 2,4,6,8,10 etc in League B )
They could then play each other home and away.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Top 2 in PL A & Top 2 in PL B go to Champions League
3rd & 4th in each go to Europa
No Cups

Bottom of each league relegated and both 2nd bottoms play-off to stay up, loser goes down.

CHAMPIONSHIP & EFL
2 leagues of 12
Top of each goes up
2nd play 2nd for 3rd promotion spot or you can have play-offs etc

Relegation similar format to PL

I like that! Would be very interesting to hear any rumours coming out from whoever decides these things about how radical their ideas of how to deal with next season are.

If something works too well we might never go back to how it was!

We'd have to sign about 15 players in those 4 weeks assuming contracts that are due to end in June are extended until this season is played out, leaving us with about 6 to start the new season.  Its such a minefield balancing the need of every club to play matches (to urgently generate income) with the practicalities of how long you need to sign a squad, have pre-season training, play friendlies etc.

Not quite.
Once football resumed, you'd have the last 2 months of this season, plus the close season and a 1 month transfer window to scout/recruit, so not really much less than we've got anyway.
