Used to go from primary school, and is was so hideous, I'd get nervous the night before and couldn't sleep. Cockroaches, plasters floating in the water; it was fucking vile. Deserved bombing. embankment Posted July 11, 2020 Share Posted July 11, 2020 Bridgeman St baths was next door to The Pidgeon Club. ( green door ). It closed down when the glass roof fell in. We used to go there quite often. Oldstyle place obviously , changing cubicles round the side of the pool. When you went through the door , the rooms off to the right were private bathrooms , rented out for 30 min slots. High St baths were bloody awful . Had to once come out of the poolside cubicle and round the pool, back to the front office to ask if they had some scissors, no way could i un fasten one of the knots in a pair of 10 hole Docs. The more you struggled the worse it got and all the rest of the class are in the pool and the only door still closed is yours. Feels like forever when you're about 13.
