MancWanderer
Fuckety bastard shite. Well the MiL kept battling but finally tested positive. Got steadily worse. Blood transfusion yesterday to help her failing kidneys. Unfortunately it didn’t work so we’ve just had the call that all the machines have been switched off as there was nothing else that they could reasonably do for her The absolutely worst thing is that they said that one person can go up to the hospital to be with her but as she’s on the Covid ward they wouldn’t then be able to attend the funeral. So basically she will die alone. Fucking heartbreaking!!!

Mrs Manc has just said that as the numbers at the funeral will be so small it will prob be blood relatives only so it looks like it will be me volunteering to be with her. It's a 15 minute process right now that just isn't real. There should be someone by her side right away. There'll be a proper funeral in the future. MancWanderer
Thanks all. This being with her is quite complicated. The ideal person to be with her is the FiL but he’s in bits. He also had Covid and was really ill but stayed at home. We kept it from him, so as to not upset him, that she had a fall in the hospital and smashed all her face in, so bad she had to have an emergency CT scan. Mrs Manc thinks the sight of her will finish him off. So far been fortunate not to know of anyone locally dying of it so no idea of the wait for a funeral

They’re cramming them in. Missing the funeral now is no great shakes, I promise you. Focus on the memorial you’ll have in a couple of months. someone should be there if you can manage it. Moderators Casino Posted April 23, 2020 Moderators Share Posted April 23, 2020 Im pretty cynical, but for me its a no brainer If somebody healthy can get to the hospital, its hosptal all day over the funeral

MancWanderer
Thankfully Mrs Manc is as cynical as some on here. She’s decided “fuck it”. She’s going up there. Only allowed 30 minutes but at least she gets to hold her hand and say goodbye. Going to be a horrendous 2 weeks after as it’s proper full on lockdown after going on a Covid ward. Good on her. Already planning for the memorial at a later date when all the Oirish pile over to say goodbye

MancWanderer
This place may be full of bickering nazis, commies, nipple and bumming obsessed shithouses, druggie thugs, alkies and all other normal members of society, but at least there’s no weirdos. In times of trouble and stress there’s only WWays that is worth a visit. I sincerely thank you all for the comments on here, the PMs and the texts. I personally know few of you but feel that I know a lot of you. The next few days will be horrendous as the MiL eventually departs this life. I pretty much ignore social and mainstream media at the moment so this place is the only place that I really visit to see what’s going on I will give one massive shout out to TMGJ. If you ever need someone in a crisis he’s your man. Cannot thank him enough for stuff he’s done for my mum recently. Absolutely top man
