If paramedics are going to be stationed at these games, the country really has lost the plot

They tend to be employed by the individual clubs so they won’t be taken from the front line as such. Though there again I think there’s a substantial argument that they should be on the front line.

Yes. If a paramedic is on a "nice little earner"by attending a footy match he may as well be being utilised as a paramedic in his patch. The only thing preventing this would be a lack of available ambulances.

The only reason that the season will finish is because of money.

therefore they will find some bizarre way to finish it. It will show the game as morally bankrupt.

Because if the money I think prem and possibly championship will finish, I’ll be very surprised if league 1 or 2 finish.

Be surprised if any division play the games; but we as always wont benefit because they will NOT void the season but do something like a pools panel to decide the outstanding games results

By paramedics, i was using the term too loosely

Pretty sure an ambulance is required to be stationed at every game?

Ill bow to you, though, if you tell me im wrong

Two ambulances, one for the crowd and one for players. Only the crowd one is provided by NWAS (for example) though and presumably wouldn’t be necessary. The players one is owned by the clubs and the medics employed as such along with club doctor and crowd doctor. As @MickyD says though, if they’re covering games then they can cover on the front line, and take the private ambulance (no, not that sort) with them.

Personally I can see the Prem playing as many games as possible at as few venues as possible so that such resources aren’t stretched too much. Pay a handful of doctors to cover 2/3 games a day apiece rather than any number of combinations of 19 different ones.

Fair enough

Im with ani

Itll be sold as breaking the monotony for everybody locked up at home

Prob even fta some games

The implications of the TV deal will dictate that it is finished as @radcliffewhite1 says. Though I don’t think they’ll be too arsed about finishing the Championship and certainly not Leagues One or Two.

They will get the teams all thrown in to the same hotel and play 3/4 games a day, possibly even at one of the training grounds given the quality of the pitches at Carrington or Etihad Campus for example rather than potentially drawing people to a stadium. Given the fucktards who keep going out, 6 hours of football on the telly might do the trick of getting people to stay inside.

Like I said last week clubs have lawyers at the ready as the implications are massive if it’s canned

I’m going for a July start up

Lawyers my arse

Act of god clauses (Force Majoure) in all agreements, this virus would easily trigger that clause

Also within the rules that a season has to be completed by June or something like that

Anyway, without Paramedics you ain’t playing football in 2020

They either finish next year or go and play it in Belarus

Precisely Casino. If, and I very much doubt it will happen, this season is abandoned completely do Bury get reinstated as a third tier club as they were in August 2019? The potential for legal challenges are endless.

No

as currently Steve dale is still in charge

he failed and still can’t raise the funds

Seriously though, play it through, what’s a lawyer seriously going to say if the league governing body decide to do X, Y or Z?

To be fair, I think they will finish the season as it’s unlikely to be back on in time for August, they might as well finish this one if it’s getting into 2021 rather than start a new one

Think were looking at at least 6 months, probably 9 without major sport

Next season will get the fall out from this

and don’t forget the euros have been cancelled so they will be starting next June without fail

Absolutely zero chance of a panel deciding results, that would lead to litigation after litigation, simple option is null and void season.

There's talk the Bundesliga will be back in May (I think it's fanciful that soon but teams are returning to training) behind closed doors. If one major European league starts up again within next month or two then the pressure from numerous parties to get on with Premier League might be too much to resist, despite the risks.

Zero point in a Panel deciding results, they need to get the PL games done so they don’t lose £750m, they won’t get that if a panel just makes the results up

Honestly can’t see any litigations taking place, it’s a once in a hundred years act of god event, no way through it without upsetting one side or another (unless they manage to get through this and next season unscathed - unlikely)

Its pointing towards finishing this season whenever but then a shortened season next year, that will come with a big financial penalty for the Leagues through both reduced TV income and gate receipts

There is £750m at stake here. There is no solution that makes everyone happy so litigation is pretty much a certainty.
Players contracts will be up before this is sorted so that needs to be addressed.
The ‘integrity of the competition’ is a total red herring it is all about the money.
Clubs are using the government scheme for the tea lady whilst paying players £100k per week so integrity is clearly not an issue.
Everyone says we are 2/3 weeks behind Italy who are still in lockdown. Say for at least 2 more weeks. So we are mid May before clubs can start training again. 2/3 weeks to get fit is June. That is best case reality probably later.
City have 10 games left to play at 2 per week that is 5 weeks so mid July. (Assume FA cup and Champions league get canned although what is £££ implication of that ??).
Clubs will support self interest. 3 PL teams on 27 points. 3 goals between them. Villa 2 points back with a game in hand.
Season can only be finished by playing games. That can only happen if clubs extend contracts but that won’t always be practical.

The only solution is to void the season other than the £750m issue.
