Site Supporter Steejay Posted September 1, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted September 1, 2020 Had an hour to kill on Sunday & bought a pint of Bank Top Pavilion Pale in The Wilton. Worst fuckin drink I've had for years. Is it the pub or the beer?

Not in Crawley
Day two of new job. Popped out for a pint after work at the local (still working from home) trendy craft ale pub. Three pints, still all taste of bloody grapefruit. New job is good, all lovely folk, and the patron is the Queen. Thats what you get with a bit of 100 year old class. My new (and hopefully longer term) business was registered today with three directors, options for a fourth and media contracts set up. Hope this could be a really changed and exciting year. Grapefruit beer is still pap though.
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted September 2, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted September 2, 2020 Since when did grapefruit make it's way into beer and be actually appreciated?

Traf
No beer was ever improved by the addition of grapefruit.

Mannyroader
Last time I was in Bolton I had the misfortune to sample the popcorn flavoured ale at Northern Monkey. Thoroughly vile muck.

It's not a million miles off. Slightly stronger and a good pint at £2.65 but lacks the depth of flavour for that Guinness has for me.
