I know. But it is a visual arts place. We also get an art afternoon once a month. Didn't take mine for Jan, but its good when places are open as you get to see stuff, get paid and get the cash for any paid entry up to £200 a year.

That sounds decent to be fair.

For the sake of clarity, was the 'Craftanoon' everyone sat around drinking craft ale or was it more like a knitting circle ?

Knitting circle I believe. In fact I think most of the staff didn't attend.

Although we do have a group of us that finishes at 5 on a friday and has a few beers. Strictly invite only.

It is - they do take staff support really seriously and I suppose if you are a national organisation and your job is to be aware of what is happening across the UK, then its a benefit to the staff and the organisation. So if it is free entry the £200 can go towards travel expenses and that can be used anytime - not just in the art afternoon.

In reality I don't get owt like zoom pissups or 'gigs', 'raves', quizzes etc.

Similarly (in normal times too) - ringing wanklines/'babe' channels or watching/interacting with webcam girls...*

(* that is especially frustrating I imagine).

All this type of things are akin to being starving and having someone read you menus.

If the pubs are shut they're shut.

If you're wankbound and birdless (or blokeless) it's the bedsock again (or Ann Summers)...

Rivington - Cloudwater collab available now.

£6 a tin, fill your boots @Youri McAnespie

£6 a fucking tin?

1048224-emperorsnewestclothes-03.jpg?itoSix quid could buy 5.65 cans of McEwans Export...

'Craft' ale, cider, gin etc. is just a bullshit facade to legitimise pissheadery that verges on emulating a hobo's supping habits.

Except the rocketfuel favoured by gentlemen of no fixed abode is considerably cheaper

Because your palate is fucked after two regardless..?

I dread to think of how many aldehydes are in 'craft' - no wonder Casino's LFT came back with a 'dodgy' tag.

Just because we aren't blinded by the blaggers making a mint off this craze doesn't mean we're supping Carling or Bolty's go-to tipple - Fosters.

Mcewan's and Guinness are fine drinks at a sensible price.

And the Jocks and Padraigs know their booze, intimately.

That's what palate cleansers are for. Give me three handpumps in a pub and I'll try them all. Usually cheaper than the pig swill too.

Cloudwater/Riv I wouldn't really want to try outside of draught, even if it is bankruptcy-inducing

I've no truck with reasonably priced small producer draft in pubs.

Bit this £7 a can nonsense, half of which is made by some braces, beard, brogues, been brewing 'bout two months hipster git. Nay.

They're laughing all the way to their Swiss banks.

300% markup - fact.

I quite like the zoom pissups. Its not the same but it's ok. Some have been a laugh, some have been a bit shit.

Also the music quizzes on a saturday night are good fun with a few drinks in you.

WW zoom quiz? 😁

Round One - Brexit

Round Two - Historic Threads

Round Three - BLM

etc

Picture round - Battle nips

Got my vaccine today so on the way home (had it at Salford Royal, or Hope Hospital to me) stopped at Leyland BB.

Two Bernie, two fog, a Milk Foley (twisted wheel), two of the other new Rivi raspberry and vanilla one (can't remember the name) and two Beach House. Sorted.

Nah, that pigswill is too commercial - any of those public schoolboy pretend pikeys ditties can be downloaded off iTunes or Amazon for as little as a quid...

The hardcore craft lot are currently supping to the sounds of The Ned Beatty Experience's new 12 song opus 'Squeal Like a Pig, Boy'...

Only available on Limited edition 'virtual' white label - only £119.89 to download the full eighteen minute album.

Use a VPN to access the darkweb and search for Fakker's Folky Wets Music, this is the only place it's for sale, for 36hrs - chose at random and unpublicised, sometime between noon today and June 2nd...

2022.

No.

Not if I were dictator.

All breweries would be turned over to production of Mcewan's Export Ale.

Guinness could continue to export here also.

Anyone who'd, before the revolution, been duped into purchasing wildly overpriced gnatpiss (by Tommy Handley) would be sent to a re-education camp just outside Govan.

by-jove-mcewans.jpg

Handley himself would be liquidated after facing charges of ale-based extortion of the proletariat.

And forced to drink 8 pints/day
