It’s the only lager apart from mcewans and sol they sell from memory

they also sell deuchars ipa on draught so sometimes I go for that

i wouldn’t choose to buy peroni in a supermarket etc  it’s just the best of a bad bunch  in that pub which is a staple visit before I go to tynescastle on the odd occasion there is a spare ticket and I can be arsed watching shit and I’m not at Livingston

pubs up here for a pint of draught peroni you will pay minimum 6 quid now Upto about 8 quid.  not a chance I’m paying that

Do they do Bucky on draft?

@Escobarp

Edit: Just read your reply, if you mean this (on draft in that Tynecastle boozer)..?

Then I'll bow to your local knowledge - it probably is 'pish'.

The Export Ale however? On draft sounds like finding Eldorado - just a distant dream...

Yes it’s just mcewans lager. They also do 80 shilling on draught which all the old pissstains drink. Basically “heavy”. It’s fucking rank as well

Can you still get Younger's Tartan Bitter in the shops?

Ice cold peroni in the summer cant be bettered

Oh it can be, by pretty much any ice cold beer originating in a traditionally beer drinking country...

French ale is fucking crap an' all.

Best lager I've ever drank was in the home of it - Czech Republic, like Guinness in Ireland it was.

I will now take all your craft ale proselytising with an extra pinch of salt after that statement regarding Peroni.

Best part of pizza express apart from not bumping into Prince Andrew is the giant Peronis

Can I interest you and Casino in some Burberry caps/scarves or Ralph Lauren Polo Polos?

You've also disappointed me, Rudy.

I've heard that about Peroni. Don't mind, I like it. I like Stella as well.

Stella was the gold standard when I was a kid, I'd mainly drink Miller Lite/Pilsner for the price, but if flush would plump for Stella every time.

When they started brewing it here it went downhill like Franz Klammer. My local shop used to do booze runs and sell silver top under the counter, sometimes when stocks were low we'd have to mix and match silver top (Belgian) and gold top (UK) - supping a can of the latter after the former was like kissing Mongy Boswell after Catherine Zeta-Jones...

We used to say 'gold top-wet dog'.

Rank.

Peroni isn't my fave, I just knew you would nibble

Mythos is my go to

But I do like Peroni and peroni red

They always seem to have it in Lidl (Mythos) I always think 'next time' - then next time they don't have any...

Tropical in the Canaries is good - maybe it's more the location though?

I’m disappointed that Burberry took a hit and  is looked on as scutter clobber

Good god no, I'm just curious - Scotland is a bit 'land that time forgot' in some ways booze-wise, not in a bad way I might add..I'm revisiting childhood boozes in lockdown(s) but there's only been one winner so far...(have a guess 😀).

Mackesons Stout next up.

Maybe Gold Label next week.

Tartan Bitter will get it eventually.

I find it amusing Canarios shun Dorada and Tinerfenos do similar with Tropical...basically the same beer.

Other than own brands Damm is routinely the cheapest cans in the Spars - makes me smile seeing packs of it here for six quid, it's about 35p a can there.

Re: Burberry - When the louts donned Aquascutum I couldn't give away a jacket and jumper, both in good nick (jumper had shrunk a bit in wash - snug 😕)...

You just told us...

McEwans Lager and Heavy on draft, Bucky in the fridges...

Anyhow Edinburgh ain't Scotland. I've been told that by Edinburgh people.

You're right though, my knowledge of north of the border is very limited.

That’s one pub!! And I only go in as it’s a staple with my hearts supporting mates before a game 😁

Best lager I’ve bought in the last year from a shop in the Sainsbury’s own brand Czech pilsner. Not seen it on the shelf though for months now and but for Bianca and Heather on the till I’d never go back in.

But you should see Bianca. Fucking hell

Plymouth polytechnic in late 80s had a bar which strangely was supplied by McEwan with Export on draught. Christ, they were heavy sessions on it while mates were on the lager tops.

No Guiness either thinking back. Maybe someone had read to much into citys links with Billy

You've got me wrong - I'd take a pint of heavy and a Bucky chaser over a eight quid pint of Peroni anyday (or four quid bottle 😀).

Love heavy
