My and Embankments dad passed away this morning in the Royal Bolton

Pub has always been my security blanket through life ,and i will miss it over Christmas

we have sat with him for a week , Embankment doing nights , me on the easy shift

I will raise a glass to him tonight but as Embankment always reminds me the answer is not at the bottom of a bottle

Sorry to hear that. Condolences to you both, I shall raise a glass 😔

Zinfandel from the Napa Valley would glide over your palate in the same way a glassy eyed simpleton would gaze unwittingly at the Mona Lisa, assuming it to be a selfie.

 It’s why I can’t eat lobby.

I bet you don't eat chicken or lamb on the bone either.

Nor whole fish.

I bet you do eat at McDonalds if you drink Budweiser.

And eat canned peas and chips/roast spuds - but no other vegetables.

I'll also have you know I was a buyer for Oddbins early 2000's...probably forgot more than you know 😃.

Couldn't be arsed with Asda yesterday so going in an hour or so for bits and bats and 2x12 Guinness (£21) that'll be ample, £5+ cans? Crackers.

I bet they have none (cream crackers) - nor pickles.

Bet even though it's early it'll be still be m0ngo central.

Folk buying like it's The Apocalypse - not just shut two days.

I had garlic roasted cauliflower and broccoli with some seeds on last night. They go surprisingly well with a Big Mac.

And there’s no way you were buying Frogs Leap 2017 Zinf in 2001. DO THE MATH MAN

I wouldn't buy Aussie Zinf any time - it's not very good...

Try one from Croatia - you can't really unless you're over there, they keep it all for themselves.

And broccoli and cauli? It's either/or...

I wouldn't call an ale that BD - maybe 'Skunk Pussy Slime Surfer Jissom Monkey DIPA'...

It’s a yank wine as you well know.

The best champagne is from Georgia you know. Supplied to the Russian czars for centuries.

Roasted cauli is god-like

And champagne is from Champagne...nowhere else.

Other countries use the method.

They can't call it champagne - protected DOI.

Bulgarian sparkling is pretty good.

It’s easier to type champagne.

and they don’t put sugar in the good stuff, it’ll be an R32 refrigerant or high quality glycol.

Georgia is probably the oldest wine producer on earth. Some amazing reds in Russia.

Excellent drop...

And about £6 a litre (over there).

We drink utter piss at that price 'cause of tax/overheads.

Georgia and Moldavia pretty much supplied the entire politburo and party members with wine back in the USSR day.

The serfs were busy blinding themselves with garlic sliver laced (to disguise the taste) home-distilled vodka.
