Precisly

These gastronomic bombsites are borne out of utter peasantry. We've evolved beyond it all.

Lobby on the other hand, is tremendous.

Parkin I can take or leave- much prefer carrot or pumpkin cake.

On the other hand I restocked with channa dal yesterday as the Indian influence on my diet continues.

Honest to God, when I tell people outside Bolton what we consider to be a delicacy, they look at me like they're worried I might start pulling the wing mirrors off their cars.

Lobby

Black Peas

Parkin

Pasties

Boltonian food has the density of a collapsed star and tastes like soil.

I''m still proud of the town.

Food of champions all of them. Love black peas.

I've made mushy pea pasties for the wife before but never done a black pea one, that's top of the list for this November now.

It's just as much of  Lancashire origin as it is Yorkshire.

Different ingredients I have been told. I was convinced the strong in the arm thick in the head lot used golden syrup and we used treacle. I know Yorkies down here who say it is the other way round.

Same goes for the addition of medium oatmeal which I always put in.

Black peas are ace. Don't listen to Spider and his sophistication signalling.

Stunned. Folk putting vegetables in cakes require attitude adjustment.

November? Just as a puppydog isn't just for Christmas, a pan of black peas isn't just for the bonfire period.

Try it. It's stunning. Drawn the line at parsnip cake though.

A fusion of traditional baking with oriental spices and gourds where applicable.

Pumpkin pie is also food of the gods.

My mam and her mate put cheese on parkin. Its a certain type of cheese, can't remember which, but still disgusting behavior. I always give her shit for it when I see her do it.

Crumbly Lancashire. Try it with apple pie or Christmas cake
