To be fair he was a prick before this so we shouldn’t be surprised.  It’s quite high profile and giving him air time. It’s all these cunts want self promotion from others misery.

Had it this way with James frith Regarding bury fc he was all over the media trying to be some mediator between dale and efl

his constituents had more important matters at the time but he showed little interest

I just don't see how that could work, Wigan RL don't have millions and millions of pounds do they - fuck all people watch RL, so I can't see how they generate enough money to subsidise a football club

It isn't a direct takeover as such, just that it is being headed by Lenagan (not short of a bob or two himself) getting a consortium together with the aim of the two clubs effectively being owned by the same people. Worth mentioning that Lenagan used to own Oxford and was chairman of the EFL at one point so won't be short of footballing connections.

Not sure what the appeal could be about.

The dodgy cunts who did all this betting against the club etc were the owners or their associates so arguing they were especially naughty is actually a case for a bigger punishment.

Agree. Think some jail time might be on the agenda by the end

Is the mayor of greater Manchester still fighting Wigan’s corner? What a prick he is

From August last year:

Quote

On Bolton’s current difficulties, the Mayor told the EFL: “Financial instability has dogged the Wanderers since their relegation from the Premier League. Mismanagement has brought the club to its knees over the course of the last season: players have gone months without their wages being paid; emergency foodbanks have been established to feed unpaid Bolton Wanderers staff; youth teams have been mobilised to honour fixtures and the club’s manager has now left as well.

“Regardless of the issues frustrating the sale of the club, the impact upon players, fans and staff at Bolton Wanderers has been catastrophic. For the sake of fans and the town, means must be sought to safeguard the club and its staff, ensure its survival.”

What a cunt.

Wigan not getting -12 points would open the biggest can of worms

Non starter.

It’s written in the football league law. There’s no budging from it.

And Wigan Warriors buying them. They ain’t got that much cash or collateral.

Haven’t Wigan been losing around £10m a year / £1m a month

If this Chinese outfit have pulled the plug on covering those losses then they will soon be in arrears surely

Especially given they currently have less income than would usually be the case

Put it this way, the last fella pumped in £40m over 2 years chasing the premier league dream.

At best, the new owners will have to sell a few and bring the wage bill down dramatically.

Their days of preening as though they are a decent sized club are over. They’ll be down - hopefully this season, and they ain’t coming back this time

Their owner put them in admin because he’s got a bet worth millions on them being relegated remember.

So they have appealed.

Makes me think that they must believe they have decent grounds as lawyers aren't cheap.

If they lose they can probably just write it off

Correct and the risk reward Is massively in favour of reward so worth a punt

although they lose millions every year in reality so Quite what they ate offsetting it against I’m not sure.

Never mind what Nixon is saying or the fact Wigan have appealed, surely the EFL will have agreement from its members that a club going into admin is a 12 point deduction - no matter what the circumstances.

If they haven't got that bit nailed down then their lawyer needs sacking

EFL rebutting wigans claims that Corona caused the admin. Dont think EFL can afford to let them off. Rules are clear! Stand firm EFL. Caused because new owners cant/wont fund the club. Tough shit Anderson & this poker player passed fit and proper test , wrong i know but same for everybody.  if football wasnt so fucked these people wouldnt be allowed to own football clubs. Yes theyve been shafted so were we and Bucket Shakers. Truth is since Whelan checked out they are unviable financially and this would have happened sooner or later.

Twats wont be lording it over us again.

Admin is admin and brings -12. Standard

yes it’s not Wigan’s fault as a club and fan base that their owner got in to some shit and chucked the club under the bus. However it wasn’t BWFC and our fan based fault Anderson decided to stop paying every fucker and would’ve happily desolved it to get money out of it himself

all clubs have extenuating circumstances as to why they have gone in to admin. 99.9% of these are owner led. You let one off, everyone in future will appeal.

it is and has to remain black & white

There aren't any 'new owners', that's the problem. The EFL have approved a new owner as someone who doesn't actually exist as a means of transferring the debts of one of their other companies on to the club. It's not a bad shout for an appeal in that sense, although they need to do their own due diligence rather than relying on the EFL.

In reality, though, the actual method of transferring the debt isn't illegal and isn't much different to when the Glazers took out a massive loan when they took over Man Utd and then attached said loan to the club rather than paying it themselves (or even when a load of loss-making London restaurants became Hibs' debt in the late 1980's).

by 'new owners " i meant the lot Sharpey originally sold to. I know there has been shenanigans but like you say Wigan arent only club to have dodgy owners so getting the EFL to treat wigan as special case will cause a shitstorm all through the league not just at pie men.

admin is admin is minus 12 got to be. anyway minus 12 is not even their biggest problem now as we know only too well
