Wasn’t Villas wage bill about £75m before they went up? But at least they went up. Wigan are going to have to do some serious offloading and hope they can sign a load of free agents.

Villa will once again be in the same position if they go down, probably with a higher wage bill.

The usual two season push for promotion with parachute payments. Fail and end up like hull, Boro and stoke battling relegation .

Joe Williams, but their wages are high by Championship standards.

Was that the tosser we had on loan from Everton - and they are saying his wage is high??

I noticed that report too.  Why would his wages be high by championship standards if he came from Everton youth via a loan spell with us?  You'd think he'd be at the lower end of the pay scale

thing i dont get is, when leeds took the points , they got done for gaming the system and got re-penalised the season after.. im sure they came up with a rule saying if its before march then it applies that season , but if after then it applies the next..

its july.. they went into admin after theyd played 40 games, which iirc is two games too late (last thursday in march is 38 games) for it to apply this season.

maybe its an accounts (end of year) thing rather than a 'progress of the season' thing , but thats not what they sed when they did leeds twice.

seems strangely unfair if youre barnsley or whoever, if barnsley or hull went into admin tomorrow, would the same thing apply ? (the 'this season or next season' deduction)

Think Leeds got done was because they went into admin after being relegated with a few games left to play, so -12 didn't make any difference

Though seem to remember them getting done for -15, maybe for being cheeky cunts

They went into admin the day after the Stoke match. On the original fixture list the Stoke match would have been played on the 21st March, so 4 days before the 4th Thursday in March.

hmmm, good answer, never thought of that.

so did they hang on for as long as they could when covid19 paused the season for 8 weeks.

wonder what that cost ? kinda in the same boat as everyone else , but waiting for it mustve been strange.

its a bit bonkers

Just seen that there are potential point deductions coming up for Brum & Sheff Wednesday which could help Wiggin out.  Not good news.

The absolute state of this sport the last few seasons. Gonna be asterisks all over the place when we look back in years to come.

The Prem has an awful awful lot to answer for, the temptation to get in leaves clubs gambling and risking everything for a massive pay off.

I can see clubs folding and joining together down the line

All saving up for their first Vespa Primavera.

Can spot em a mile off.

Style over substance.

Silly boy. Vespa's were mainly a London thing - especially small frames.

Now if you'd have said an SX200 I would have taken notice ;)
