Latics get several times more support from St. Helens and Skelmersdale then they ever will from Leigh and Atherton.

Only the US, French in town and now Nixon saying that the transfer not going well with one potential bidder that’ll be the aforementioned. Pop looking inevitable. Popeye doyle
The EFL need proof of funding off any new bidder for 2 seasons approx £4m. The administrators want £3 million for the stadia and they still have creditors to pay. In the meantime the playing squad is being significantly weakened. They don't have a buyer with an emotional attachment as far as I know just hard headed business people sniffing around. They're looking doomed to me. Would Wigan council step in I wonder? They lose 10m a year currently. Even after wage bill cuts they will still lose minimum 5m taking into account a drop in revenue so I reckon your 4 is actually

I hope you're right though.
Moderators Zico Posted August 27, 2020 Moderators Share Posted August 27, 2020 The "funny" thing about all this is when we went down this route, we saw it coming a mile off, was a long drawn out process that lasted for what seemed like months / years since ED bailed Wigan didn't see this coming and in the space of 2 months have gone from mid table championship team to the brink with little hope Anyone fancy a photo shoot outside the DW? Popeye doyle
Has anyone seen the article about Wigan on Ch4 news tonight. They interviewed Bury fans watching them play Daisy Hill last night and asked them about Wigan. Their response was we wouldn't wish this on anyone, except Bolton. paulhanley
My money is on August 31 being reached without a conclusion and deadlines becoming a bit elastic. Purgatory for the fans. ....still as it's Wigan, fuck em.

Mantra
Can't see this being tied up and completed by 31st August. Best Wigan can hope for is someone to go exclusive by that date and then maybe just maybe they'll start the season with new owners. Although Covid has undoubtedly made the sale process more difficult, if they do get sold, they at least have until October 5th to sign players. Not sure what the rest of their current players are on a week but surely Garner, Morsy and others will have to take a pay-cut or leave the club.
