Seems the American outfit want the club but just not the ground, which is too big, too costly and not necessary. I can see them playing somewhere else like Rotherham and Brighton did until a new, smaller, more appropriate ground can be sourced. Makes perfect sense to me and could be the best option for them.

Don't think this American outfit exists or haven't put in any kind of offer yet. That is probably why they have to sell the ground and training ground to other people because time is running out.

It’s more of a recent thing, but i think Wigan have become our bitterest rivals.

They are certainly bitter little shitbags which is why i hope they are crushed like beetles! (said in best Bob Hoskins accent)

Can’t be that expensive to run the DW surely, just a concrete box

I get why we struggled, we have Confrence facilities, office blocks and a hotel, thus the exorbitant business rates

Can’t see how that Stadium costs them a great deal more to run than what they would pay renting Leigh Sports Village or similar

They've arguably actually got more conference/event facilities than the UniBolt as there are two/three different lounges (plus the Italian restaurant) in the main stand and then one beneath each stand behind the goal, plus the former chippy is included in the deal so presumably paying rates on that as well. Certainly not the same outgoings as the hotel though, I expect.

Does that mean you used to join the concourse scrum at half-time rather than the smart money of the lounge downstairs? :)

(Although the last time we played them we were on the concourse long before half-time...)

That’s right yes, although I recall that we did find a lounge one time and didn’t know what it was about

The Coventry chairman who took the decision with his directors to sell highfield road and lease the Ricoh stadium says in his book it was huge mistake to do that.

What does that stadium do every other Saturday during a season? The grass will still need cutting and maintaining. In fact I can only see the lack of pitch markings being saved on a day to day basis. What are the landlords doing without Coventry’s rent money?

The conference centre is used a lot, as its an easy location to get to. I normally go there 4 or 5 times a year for various conferences/exhibitions

Yep. Mrs Manc works in logistics. Cov is where all the big hubs are based. Most of the parcels delivered in the UK go via Cov. All those companies use the Ricoh for meetings, conferences, exhibitions, etc. Fantastic facilities apparently.
