I'm not sure these foreign types are remotely arsed about the "history" of the clubs they buy. Some, if they're daft, may know that Wigan fairly recently won the FA Cup, and we haven't won anything for over 60 years, and see that as their marker for success.

I'll be surprised if you really believed that. As a business aficionado, you wouldn't expect a wealthy person or group to invest without checking out money making potential.

Wigan have a very similar money making potential to us

Neither of us are making significant dough outside the prem and once we were in it, thered not be a fag paper between us

Both struggling in lower league for money of course, but the crowds throughout are different.

Prem is different because the gate receipts are relatively small, but getting there and managing within a club's means should be far more achievable for us.

But as a money maker, we are very similar in the prem

When these people buy football clubs, I think all normal business logic goes out of the window, it's ridiculous really. Look at Barnsley, they were bought by a weird Chinese and Indian consortium...you do wonder why, as they'll never make any money from a team like them. Some wealthy Arab bought Bristol Rovers two or three years ago, again, you have to ask why, it'll only ever cost money, they'll never make any

Agree. But getting there, especially with current circumstances, is likely to yield more money by going for us than them.

Additionally, with budget limits, that potentially would yield more money for the owners rather than feeling the need for chucking it at the team.

Huge companies/individuals perhaps prepared to gamble what is probably small beer to them on the off chance it comes good.

Perhaps even having a bit of fun.

Groups like FV are not in that category.

In the current situation, can't even see a moneybags individual bothering with a flutter, though you never know.

Especially as they will almost certainly be building from a league 2 base next season.

Foreign investors used to be able to write off loses from their football clubs against their companies making massive profits in their own country.

Not sure whether that loophole has now been closed but I’m pretty sure they can’t used acquired losses against their other business profits.

Anyway, I reckon Johnny Foreigner will bugger off and they’ll be left with a lower value version of FV happy to see them ticking over in L2

There is an obvious reason why Arabs should be attracted to Bristol Rovers

I took my eye off this lot last week. Happy to report they lost 3 times in 8 days, 2 of which were '6 pointers' & the itger was 0-5, at home.

Still only 3 points in it regrettably.

Their fan is livid with their goalkeeper/captain and likkle Cloughie who's been playing for an hour & then subbed (fairy nuff, he can't be fit) yesterday was sub from the start & came on at 87'.

Their big hope is Jamie Proctor ... who scored yesterday.

Big loss yesterday, thought they would go on to win when they got it back to 2-2.

need them not to win at Northampton on Tuesday.

Like someone said earlier they do seem to pull off the odd freak away win now and again - at least, they did when they had some half decent players.

Signing joe dodoo surprised he didn’t have a club . We’re they get to there money from ?

Probably pushes Clough further down pecking order unless he's treated as a midfielder.  Also got Aasgaad, Keane, Proctor up front.

Dodoo OK on his day and has a trick, a bit of strength and occasional goals, but goes missing and poor body language.  Arguably similar to Fonz.
