If you're shitting it, you're in trouble. 

Nitrates have a range of uses, fertilisers, oxidising agents (explosives) for example. 

Potassium nitrate is a component of gunpowder.

Just seen a video of someone walking down the street following the explosion. My advice is, if you’re sent the video, bin it without opening.

Grim! I attended an incident early in my career; about 1987 ish, where a pit deputy (foreman) had collected sticks of dynamite and ended his life with them strapped to his body. Imagine the aftermath of that and then multiply by a few thousand tons of high explosive.

My dads mate told me some stories to purposely put me off being a firefighter

A similar sounding incident in little lever some time ago.
