Site Supporter Spider Posted August 9, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted August 9, 2020 The Sunday dread used to kick in just after Songs of Praise finished. It was in full flow during That’s Life and I was suicidal when Spitting Image finished.

leigh white
I always remembered Sundays as Two Way Family Favourites, as much ale as you could sup in the two hour slot, a Sunday roast, a kip in bed, then out for the three and half hour sesh at seven. Sat in front of the electric fire drying off after having a bath. Keeping as quiet as possible hoping mum and dad would forget I was there so I could stay up a bit longer. birch-chorley
I’ve not had proper Sunday dread for about ten years For me it was always Top Gear that kicked it in properly

dusan nikolic
I used to love Bullseye on Sunday Evenings , usually always around Autumn/Winter time , then either Bathed ready for school or Bathed ready for the pub , both after playing football. crawshawbooth
Heartbeat was nostalgia that i could only just remember when it started feel good telly tho and what a backdrop not enough telly filmed in the north east in my opinion
gonzo
Aye heartbeat was the one. Game over when that finished. Making hale and pace was just taking the piss.
ProfessorWoland
The only antidote to the despair brought on by hearing the dirges on Songs of Praise was the theme tune to Ski Sunday. That's why it was there, it was the only thing holding off the collapse of society.
ErnestTurnip
I remember my mam and dad used to let me sneak back down after putting me and my younger brother to bed on a Sunday to get me over the Sunday Dread and once there was some sort of spooky thing on about a dead nun in a rocking chair. Didn't sleep properly for the next 5 years and never really got on with Sundays after that.

Not the slightest interest in skiing myself but there was something about it that was fascinating. Probably waiting for someone to disappear into the trees at 100mph

Leyther_Matt
The starting credits of Antiques Roadshow was the cue for my mum to ring her parents in Norfolk every week and they’d have it on at their end, interspersing the conversation with estimates on each item.
