Howard’s way was another - sure that was on a Sunday evening.

absolutely hate that Sunday night dread, very rarely have a good sleep Sunday night unless under the influence.

certainly remember as a youngster, keeping quiet and hoping ma and pa forgot you were there, so you could go to bed later.

That last Sunday of the 6 weeks holiday was always the best ever day too, everyone out, even people you never really liked but that day you tolerate them.

Then,,, it comes, the time you are dreading, Getting shouted in!.

You just pray yer not one of the first.

Oh the embarrassment of being first.

Barry Wood scored his test best of 90, but England lost by 5 wickets, having already retained th’Ashes

Cricketers in the 70s always seemed to be middle aged men, probably weren't.

But in them days all the big names in sport seemed to look really old

Bobby Charlton

Billy bremner

Enry cooper

All cricketers

And every rugby game on tv had a fat old comb over in the team.

They’d all been smoking 30 Capstan full strength a day from the age of 15, along with a steady diet of beer and lobby.

you don’t age well like that.

Sunday night babysitting, watching one summer, and then spitting image.
The sound of that shite theme tune off the south bank show then signalled the end of the weekends enjoyment and that yet again it was too late to start any homework

think that’s life featured on Sundays too, nothing like a cock and balls shaped potato to make you realise the weekend was on the wain
