Thought a few on here might find this of Interest -  figures themselves are meaningless because they go from 1888 to date , relative position is what is relevant

Good to see us ranking higher than any other of the Lancashire clubs outside of Manchester and Merseyside

Coventry is probably a much bigger place though and the difference in average is only a few hundred after all

Coventry has a bigger population than Bolton, and it doesn't have Man United and Man City on it's door step. It's about 20 Miles from Birmingham, so you look at the number of Clubs within 20 Miles of Bolton and you can see why they have a bigger average.

Coventry population over 300000 with no real local competition  plus a few satellite towns such as Bedworth Kenilworth Leamington Rugby & Nuneaton.Poorly supported given City size.

34 continuous seasons in top flight.

Support fickle as fook as well .Worked there for four years.

Plenty RU egg chasers though.

Coventry did that in one stretch

We did 29 in a row from 1935 to 1964

Though not sure how many of those were affected by the war

Our highest attendance is 69k all time and 28k in the PL

Theirs is 51k, can't see what their highest PL crowd was but their average was 18k

So am surprised they're higher than us

Was at Cov when they won promotion v Bolton, mid 60s. 50,000+ on.

Season 1966-67 we drew 1-1 at Highfield Rd. Ronnie Phillips scored for us attendance 26,624 .They went up as champions that season.

I was also at the match .They was robbed.

Our attendances include from 1888 up to first world war , crowds generally were poor in them early years - that drags our average down

Coventry weren't around in the good old days
