wouldnt like to watch i follow for a whole match. given me a fucking headache that.

Anyway the back 3 bothered me Santos looked clumsy still dont rate Baptiste and teams will get behind us too easily. But a lot to be encouraged about as well. A whole new team playing together it really is going to take around ten games i reckon and weve hardly started.  impressed with Tom White mom for me. Crellin looks ok and Sarcevic is a goid player.  Once we get better service up to Doyle we will be fine. Only really the two ive mentioned worry me and it is very early but at least trying to play football.

I don’t think Bradford have much more to give so that gives me massive confidence as we’ve a stack of improvements in us as time goes on.

if that’s a yardstick for the top end of the opposition we face in the league this year then I’m more than happy with that

The trouble is, if they'd have taken their chances in the first half it could easily have ended up three or four.

If i disregard the fact its a brand new team....

It was shit

However, it was a brand new team..

Lots of room for improvement and a few promising signs. First job of a centre back is to defend. Im worried thats been overlooked

And i don't think crellin looked better than Alexander and Alexander looks very green

Crellin looked pretty solid to me.

His punching, im being generous, was awful

I'd been told he was poor in the air and I think thats what we saw

Once again, let's hope we have him as a keeper, not a centre back

We look really shaky at the back which  surprises me being that IE was centre half agree about White and Delfonso and the wing backs need to improve.

Have to agree on the wingbacks, if you’re  playing 3 centre half’s the wingbacks have to be attacking threat, they don’t look that to me, back 4 the answer in the short term, Sav, Fonz, Santos, White (very impressive) all did well, Baptiste was ok, and  once Crawford back up to speed he will be big asset, they’ll be core of the team, is the rest of the squad up to it? I’m not sure, top half at best, methinks.

Did you have a word with cameraman for some extra advertising in first half? Took a long lingering zoom in on the ad boards at one point! 😀

😃 we noticed that!

I thought we looked best for about 15 mins start of 2nd half. We seemed to move it about quicker and with more purpose

Evatt conceded this week that we are a work in process and we will get better as the season goes on. I’d think Bradford will be one of the better teams so although we were disappointing I’d not be too stressed just yet

Slightly concerning thing for me was, in the first game, opponents sussed our system out and largely nullified it. Once that happened we were too easily played through. Wing backs rarely got into advanced enough positions so we ended up doing loads of playing around and across the middle in front of them. Delfouneso did well coming a bit deeper and linking things up but otherwise we didn't often look threatening.

Holes behind the wing backs (mostly Gordon's side to be fair to Jones) were alarming and none of the back three had the pace to quickly get across and cover them. All three were also too easily put under stress by balls down the sides that had them turning.

White worked hard and tried to make things happen.

Doyle obviously scores goals with service but, on today's evidence, doesn't make the ball stick so well

Agree with these points.

To concentrate on a positive, Marple’s lad was watching with us and he mentioned that Delfouneso set up a lot of goals last season and I think that showed.

Very hard to argue with any of that.

The iFollow cameraman seemed to be doing their best to make it hard to watch although you sort of got used to it after a while.

Regardless of results, if we dont get back into the ground then watching it on tv for a season will be very very shit.

I’d sack off this 3 at the back until we get a solid foundation

My two pet hates in team selection are playing players out of position - so far so good on that front - and 3 at the back.  Drives me mad.  Invites pressure and basically you're saying "we're better than you, we only need 3 defenders" so yes you need to be the better team.  Nobody played 3 with wing backs when playing Liverpool or City away, they might do it against Macclesfield at home, expecting to have a lot of the ball and even then only if your centre backs are quick and better than average.  We aren't at that stage yet.
