Britons Protection is ace. Or at least it was when I last ventured in which was back end of last year

It's a very good boozer. They go and mix their own jack daniels barrel every year then sell it. Always well kept ale as well. I used to play at the big concert hall across the road and they always had 8 pints of tetleys on the bar for the brass section at the interval 🤣

I've not cooked a meal since this eat out business. Went away for afew days with the kids, mafe one meal. Five of us paying 30 quid to eat out with drinks, im well getting my monies worth.

Monday night, got a lovely place booked before i head back to work after 6 months. I believe sone pkaces are still going to keep it running, which would be great. Lovely to see high streets busy on a week night

That very possibly answers a question for me. Few years back I had my 50th birthday party in Rain Bar. Quite a few of us met up early in the Britons and there was some Jack D being bought and passed round that was nectar. They’ve got all those bottles lined up behind the bar (stuff I’ve never heard of) and I assumed it was some of that. Maybe not now you’ve said that. I wasn’t buying obvs so never thought to ask

Must admit, my restaurant of choice, The Toby Inn. above Edgworth  does a chicken liver pate with a 10” pizza base garlic bread for about £6 (£3 in the current deal) and I reckon I could go and have just that as a meal.

We’re going to the Portuguese restaurant in Leigh tomorrow (not Nando’s). Had to pre-order our food online which I thought was a good idea in terms of limiting wastage and preventing no-shows.

Obvs not Nando's as it is South African

Its own of the few southern inflections I've gone with, mainly because you sound like a yokel who insists on saying things like yed and fair klempt just to be more northern,  if you ask someone if they are going out for tea.

yed

Fair klempt

Never used either, its generally mongy horwichers pretending to be wigan

Breakast, dinner, tea and supper after a skinful

Baby’s yed was a term used in work for steaks and kidney puds

Always book for the week ahead - in fact, we booked the full month around where we where and the places wanted to eat. Last one tomorrow - great Greek place been wanting to try for ages and final treat before first day at work on the 1st

We've been booking two slots, 5pm and 8pm

All depends on If our folks are allowed to baby sit or not
