I thought we nearly went out of the league back in the day?

Weren't we in a relegation fight up to the end of the season or summat?

You are confusing us with Burnley. How, I don't know, but there you go.

We were promoted in our only season in this division (until this one, obvs).

What's this legendary game everyone goes on about then when we had to win to stay up? I've got Walsall in my head for some reason? Or Wrexham maybe?

Wrexham was the game where we went up. Robbie Savage and all that

(I got there in an Austin Princess, driven by someone I had not seen before, nor since).

Definitely and by some way. We spent most of our previous Division 4 season the top 7 or 8. I'd have said 13th was our lowest position. If Micky says 16th I'll go along with that.

I was only re-quoting something I’d read; either on here or Faceache.

Low point was losing 0-4 at Scarborough early in the season.

After that we won more than we lost without being amazing.

Only season Grandpa Spencer didn't have a season ticket 'I wasn't paying 1st division prices for 4th division football' daft bugger ended up at nearly every home game anyway.

Same happened with my Dad. To be fair he did miss a fair few games early on but was soon on the Paddock like the proverbial bad penny.

Fuck knows where I've got that from then?

So it's true? This is the lowest league position we've ever been in? Christ!

Not confusing us with relegation to that division? Play-off defeat to Aldershot relegated us didn’t it (I’m also too young for Wrexham)?

If ever I could transport someone to a previous game, this is the one.

Guaranteed fan afterwards.

Imagine Forest but packed into a terrace, under a low roof.
