Let’s see what happens when we score first and get confidence and tails up, think you’ll see a different BWFC.

Hope so.  But if you have a poor central defence and you're leading, there's little chance of hanging onto it.  Opposition bound to put pressure on so you need organised defending, no evidence of us having that, whatever the score.  I didnt watch today so I can only go off reports but you'd think Delaney and Taft would be have a more "defensive" attitude as well as the extra height.  It feels like we're using a 2nd choice defence, it can only improve surely.

Is this team worse than last seasons??

Depends which "team" you compare to.  At its peak, we had Matthews, Emmanuel, Chicksen/Fleming, Hobbs (when fit), Bryan, Nsiala,  Bridcutt, Lowe, Darcy, Politic, Verlinden, Bridcutt.  Would any of those not improve the team picked for the first 3 games? The jury is out on how many of this year's squad would improve last year's team most weeks.  Crawford, Doyle, Fonz, Hickman?

second half, until the goal, a solid 7/10

Overall, im going  5.5/10

I'm taking that as a positive, last week was a 2 or 3 out of 10.  I was thoroughly dejected watching the FGR game, with that line up and formation.  Thankfully IE responded to the letter I wrote him 😃 and changed to 4-4-2 and started Crawford, and it sounds like we looked a bit more like creating something.  And if he's not inflexible with his formation that's another positive I'll take from today.

I think Evatt will say it, and cant excuse that fucking amateur defending which is going to sink us repeatedly, but we take our chances when they came in these last few games and we'd have points on the board.

I think its stretching it to say we created chances last week, it was painful.  So today something had to change and it sounds like it did.  The season starts next week!  Hopefully 1 or 2 injured players back too.

Don't agree with the scape-goating of Santos. Seen far worse, and his distribution wasn't bad. Give the lad time to settle in. Give them all time. It will click. Negativity doesn't help anyone.

I didnt think Santos is as bad as Greenidge FWIW (only seen 1 game I might add) but its not being negative to say a player is poor, its just pointing out that another player might be better, its just a discussion.  If negativity didn't help anyone, neither does blind support of mistakes.

last week was dogshit, but greenidge and Doyle missed sitters

He’s done that a few games, but it’s not a bad sign, strikers need confidence, a goal will do that every game I’ve seen him play I’ve found myself saying he should have scored

No blind suport from me. Just realism.

I'll agree to disagree, Doyle had plenty to do with his chance and Greenidge was just a back post header at a corner that you see going wide every week (especially from a poor centre back).  Anyway no more mentions of that game from me.

Crellin - 5 - bad mistake for 2nd goal, did do some decent passes

Jones - 6 - solid defensively mainly, when he did get forward he didn't get his crosses to connect.

Baptiste - 6 - solid defensively, kept most things simple.

Santos - 5 - seemed to lose his man for the 1st goal but I don't think he's as bad as many are making out

Hickman - 7 - fantastic delivery on several crosses and passes, worked hard with his running.

Comley - 6 - nothing spectacular, played better than last week though. Would like to see more pass and move from him.

White - 6 - similar to Comley, tends to hang onto the ball a bit too long for me but works hard.

Gordon - 6 - average performance, didn't seem to get into good positions in the same way hickman did, not sure on him.

Crawford - 6 - had some good moments but wasn't the influential presence we have seen that he can be.

Doyle - 6 - should've done better with the chances he had but didn't get a ton of service.

Delfounso - 7 - flashy on the ball at times, at least looked lively and tried to make things happen.
