Oh aye. Bit like coming out of the ground from a night match. Sounds seem amplified. Also enjoy getting the stove on; must have inadvertently watched many hours of flames instead of looking at the telly. Mesmerising.
Sweep
It's better for dogging as well, always feels a bit seedy when it's still daylight, apparently.

It steams the windows up more readily at night making it more frustrating for perves.

Site Supporter FrancisFogarty Posted September 16, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted September 16, 2020 I am finally retiring mid October, as I did not fancy working another Winter, and dark nights (which I don't like), and certainly not another Christmas (which I like even less). I've been working since 1971 so I've done my bit, and it's taken a worldwide pandemic to get shut of me.

SatanGreavsie
Casino I can just see him taking on the presenter role on The Sky At Night: "And now on BBC2, it's The Sky at Night" Cue portentous music. Casino: "Hello and Welcome to the Sky at Neet. With me I have celebrity astronomer Brian May." Brian May: "Good evening. What are you planning to observe tonight? I have heard that Mizar and Alcor in the handle of Ursa Major's plough are favorably resolved even to the naked eye, on this crisp September night in Bury..." Casino: "I'm not going out there, it's too fucking dark." Cue portentous music.

You need help. Give me balmy light nights till after 10pm, light mornings from 5am. Sunshine and beers are a match made in heaven, i hate the cold/damp/darkness of winter - it’s shit & has no place in a civilised society. 😄🌞

No, just not getting up in the dark to scrape ice and shit off the car. Christmas is particularly hard work.

I once got told off my gaffer, that i would have to do a night shift underground because the regular bloke would be unavailable, i told him i was afraid of the dark and only do afternoon shifts. I was planning to finish at Christmas but the Covid thing has put it off till next spring. There’s bugger all to do and travelling is out of the question at the moment. Good luck though. 49 years of putting in, you deserve something out.👍

Site Supporter FrancisFogarty Posted September 19, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted September 19, 2020 On a lighter note (pun intended), I got an email of Paul Holliday to say I'd won a matchday draw. From when we waived the refund for last season.
DazBob
WFH definitely will make it easier. No more having to set off for work when it's dark and then leaving work when it's dark.

Generally my view, but I tend to wake up with the light, which would start about 2.30 in mid-summer!
