Barm😀 if you call it that then yeah

next time you’re down call in some local bakery’s it’s muffin

I was at the cafe 200 yards from my mums couple weeks back asked for a sausage and egg barm and got exactly that. A muffin is a cake!

I used to go to chippy at top of stopes road and always got barns from there with my chips and gravy. Worlds gone mad evidently.

Certainly never had a chip muffin. Anywhere.

Did they do a lamb pastie for a limited time? Love Carrs

Yeah. Lamb vindaloo iirc. Launched at the food festival at the same time as the cheese and jalapeño. Dry as the bottom of my shoe. Sold in the shops for a while after. It didn’t last.

On the muffin debate, it’s muffins all the way round here. They look at me like an alien if I ask for a barm. Anyway it’s a flour cake

Oh and Carrs cheese pasties are heaven

Carrs standard pasties are shite these days, beige/bland/tasteless filling.

Back in the day they had a dark brown filling, moist bordering sloppy, peppery taste + they were lovely.

Thats progress.

Exactly. They were peppery as fuck. Love Carr’s but I never buy the meat and potato. Bland and dry. Everything else they do is bob on

Best thing about Greenhalghs is the soup. Chicken and chilli proper warms you up 👍 shame I can't get it anymore as work has banned us getting any dinner in our uniforms as the public won't like it 🙄🙄

Had 2 meat and potato pasties from Hunters Bakery for first time yesterday.  Very nice.

Thin pastry like Ye Old Pastie Shop but much better filling.  More meat and a savoury taste.  Cheaper than Greenhalgh's as well (not hard).

Good shout, forgot about them.

The meat and spud pies from frazers butchers are also exceptional. Spud in small cubes, done to perfection. None of this mashed to oblivion slop.

Its also barm round here.
