Not yet. I got sidetracked today. I am going in the morning on my way back up the road.  Meeting in Bolton first thing and then hunters for some supplies and home. Will probably go to Paul’s as well and get some frozen pasties for the freezer at home.

Bennetts lane is a decent chippy isn’t it. Silly prices

It is cheap and decent, I usually get chips, peas and gravy with loads of scraps for 2 quid, if you want a decent fish though, you need to go Whitesides down the road

They're decent but £2.25 is too dear. (also £2.45 for a meat pie)

Their potato cakes are ok but can't get near my sister's home made.

I think they were about £2.70 last time I went.
Scandalous really, although I’m always hearing about how badly run the company is, so I suppose they need to sell at premium prices.

Agreed on potato cakes. My dads are the best I’ve ever had, but he refuses to make them now as he makes such a mess. More flour based compared to Greenhalghs.

we often do saturday dinner from greenhalghs

It really needs to stop

For 4 of us, it can be pushing 20 quid

You could always ask your wage-earning wife and kids who fancies paying.

in fact, tell them you’re on a zoom conference or something and ask them to go.

hunters so far. Meat pie 7/10. Nowt wrong with it but not in same league as greenahlghs or ye old pastie shop meat pies.
would also say Wilsons Kearsley meat pies are better

have a pastie and a meat and potato pie to sample for tomorrow as well so shall report back.

You need to get tested. Losing your sense of taste! :)

Missed a trick not getting the beef scotch pie. The gravy in them and strips of meat are tasty as. Used to work round the corner from there, not been for about 18 months or so. Probably did my waistline a favour moving work places.

Can’t get a decent scotch pie south of the border.

I won’t be trying the pastie today as I’m out for a Thai meal tonight before places shut
