Morrissey

Lennon

Bonio

and @Cheese, what the fuck

are you on about?

I like the Levellers but that doesn’t mean I immediately want to fuck off and live on a canal boat and grow white man dredlocks.

Talk some shite you

The thing is with the artists mentioned they are all (or were at some point) overtly political in their messaging. Red Wedge, RAR, its part of their identity- Weller aside.

I love BB, and having been lucky enough to have met him, he is a top and very funny bloke. But I do skip past There is Power in a Union as it seems a little anachronistic now. But listening to him without being left leaning seems a little perverse.

Tory bands.....

-Gary Numan

_ Gary Barlow

Erm....Skrewdriver

That's mental. It's like eating something because you like the colour of it, even though it tastes horrible. Or going to watch a football club you don't support because you like their kit. What do you do when you listen to it, just try to ignore the lyrics?

Half the time i can't tell what the lyrics are, plenty can't, it's about what sounds good to me

You love Radiohead, but don't tell me you either can always tell what they are saying, or even going on about half the time

If you understood all the lyrics all the time Peter Kay would lose half of his material.

Talking of Peter Kay and his misheard lyrics,  my wife is still convinced that Bee-Gee's How Deep is Your Love contains the line,  "and you come to me on a submarine..."

If you understood the lyrics or the breakdown of Radiohead’s songs you probably wouldn’t listen to them.

The greatest band to ever pick up instruments are Soundgarden (don't bother, there's no argument).

Lyrics below are from a song called Black Hole Sun. Go figure:

"In my eyes, indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face, lies the snake
In the sun, in my disgrace
Boiling heat, summer stench
'Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again"

Looks like they wrote a line and then got a book of rhyming words and wrote a line ending with the first one on the list.

I prefer Chris Cornell in audioslave (best band name ever BTW)

It's not my fault if you're unable to decipher the mysteries of such high quality lyrics.

Maybe country & western would suit you better

Guns n Roses do a cover in their live set - its actually really good, one of the few singers who can sing it other than Cornell.

Shit band and shit people - The Killers, what a bunch of complete tosspots to a man. Eagles of Death Metal - wankers - mind you, they are both shit so don't fit into this category.

Dylan comes across as nicely acerbic, I wouldn't want to meet the bloke.

Speaking of G'n'R Axl Rose is a massive bellend too.

Phil Anselmo from Pantera is an epic knobhead too. Fantastic songs but use of the confederate flag on merch and shouting White Power at gigs doesn't sit right
