I expect Tom White to push both Tutte and Comley out.....Does not matter how good Tutte plays

No like for like for Doyle.

Hopefully miller and Isgrove are ready to go tuesday

It was a massive shame regarding Doyle , he really started to pull they're back line all over the place when he picked up the injury.

be as angry as he fucking wants but theres ways of dealing with it

And on the last bit, bollocks

Agreed.  Achieves nothing, but we're getting to know IE says things in the heat of the moment, we should take them with a pinch of salt, he'll be apologising on Monday and saying he has every faith in Crellin.

But also, what's the point being angry at a clear error?  If Doyle misses an open goal from 5 yards, he probably wouldnt sleep and he'd be slagging himself off.  A manager can be angry if he tells a defender to mark someone and he ignores it, or he tells Crawford to hit feet but he keeps hitting balls over the top.  Whats the point being angry at a mistake?

He played well there today - the two 'natural' lwb's have been shocking but like others might come good soon

I think that's a bit strong.  I've seen both of them do half decent things, they aren't consistently poor like Baptiste or Comley.  I just don't think they suit being asked to play left winger and left back at the same time.  We don;t have any fullbacks that suit both roles yet IE is insistent on playing that way.

I'm going to guess that Tutte is the only player yet to get "he is shite" treatment off anyone on here.  There's an argument for him to be first name on teamsheet if we choose to play with that type of player instead of the more dynamic Darcy.  Yet IE keeps dropping him in favour of Comley, who was presumably injured to not be on the bench.  I still expect Comley to be back the next time he's available in the same way Crellin will be persevered with.

Why would you expect IE to bring Comley back in after the team and Tutte’s performance today?

Just because he’s played him before doesn’t mean that he will going forwards, and we don’t know anything about the way IE works players our over a season so we be so pessimistic? 🤷🏽‍♂️

There was something I read somewhere saying Tutte can’t manage two games a week.

Tutte reads the game very well. While unspectacular, he swept up behind the back 3 a few times and broke up play a lot, first half especially.

For me, if he stays fit/gets fitter, I’d rather Crawford drop deeper as he’s better at picking a pass than Sarce and Sarce pushes forward as he’s a better finisher.

Slowly, slowly starting to see signs of the plan. A long way to go yet but it’s on its way

Completely agree, although plenty don't see that Crawford is our best (only?) forward passer.  Remove that and what are we left with?  The ingredient we are missing is that player that can do a bit of everything, Darcy. Works hard, decent passer, good delivery from set pieces etc, occasional assist or goal, box to box.  More flexible than the other midfielder, jack of all trades, master of none.  We've got 5 midfielders that are upto it - if he doesnt start he should be first off the bench to mix it up.

I think Darcy might eventually be a central midfielder, but for the moment he can't play just in front of the back line. Either he plays as a wide forward, a position Evatt doesn't use, or as a No. 10 behind the front two.

IMO obviously.

For someone who has not seen the last 2 games, you seem to be still very negative on IE, his management style, the players he’s picking and the formation he’s playing.

Yeah that’s familiar. But that’s not the same as that he doesn’t rate him though

Sorry I didn’t read the whole thread so haven’t seen that stated. I can’t see why he wouldn’t rate tutte? Apart from white I would say he’s been our best midfielder although sarcevic is quickly improving. I think white becomes a regular starter when he’s back fit.

cant see where comely gets in when we have a fit squad from what I’ve seen. But what do I know!

@Johnnyrottenwas basically saying that IE will play Comley over him come rain or shine

I get that from previous weeks but I’d be surprised after today

I don’t understand this theory that Crellin will be dropped. Not happening.
Gilks might be registered as a player but in name only IMO. Fans really need to get his name out of their heads.

Alexander hasn’t been named on the bench (perhaps because Evatt doesn’t believe in having a sub keeper available), and Crellin is a sweeper keeper. Highly doubt we’ll replace one rookie keeper with an even less experienced one.

We’re stuck with Crellin unless we bring someone new in.

Hopefully we can keep picking up a few results and then push on during November and early December when we come up against Mansfield, Stevenage, Scunthorpe, Southend. Get to the New Year in the upper half of the table and push on from there.

Next job - pick up some home wins.

That's the understatement of the century!  In the short term I'll settle for just looking like the better team at home once even if we don't win.  The results are secondary for me to be going on with as long as we stay clear of bottom 2, its about looking like a team so it sounds like today was a step in the right direction.  That's 2 games this season we can say have been positive experiences, now let's have one at home.

Matthews and Crelin are like chalk and cheese

Crelin won’t be playing for us on Tuesday and I’d be surprised If he plays again for us this season

I'd be surprised if he misses a game, barring injury.  Hopefully for IE any injury doesnt occur during a game.

Yep. And all that will help us feel like a normal football club again

Keepers at this level make mistakes.  See the Grimsbys blokes cock up today.  I'm not sure I've ever forgiven Matthew's for his shocker at Wigan but he never did it again.  Crellin gets another chance for me.

Keepers at every level make mistakes, watch Everton, Man U etc on MOTD any week.  I thought Matthews made a lot less than other keepers I watch every week on Sky, and also made a lot more saves (through necessity).  Its OK saying give Crellin a chance, but on what basis?  He's had a dozen games now, not 2 or 3.  A dozen more than our other 2 keepers.  We wouldnt have the same patience for an outfield player.

So you agree that's 2 problems, 2 that shouldnt currently be in the team.

Think the was 3 but one did not play today.

Its not all one way i slagged Santos off first two games and i have so been proved wrong with Brockbank at left back.
