Vela was a whopper from day one, he just benefitted from the white tinted specs that so many of our recent 'heroes' have managed - the likes of Wheater, Madine etc.

Utter shithouses devoid of any real talent, and a fanbase desperate to feel a connection to someone, anyone with even a sniff of personality was given the benefit of the doubt to disregard the almost complete lack of footballing talent as we slid down the leagues with barely a whimper.

Of those 3 I wouldnt put Wheater in the same category as the other 2 untalented over rated "heroes".  Wheater was a championship standard defender all day long (not quick enough for Prem).  Many a game he was one of our best players and earned us points we probably didnt deserve, I never once came away from a game thinking Vela or Madine made the difference, even if they scored.  Career spoiled by some injuries, but one to have in the trenches.  Vela and Madine Div 1 at best, very average footballers who were lucky that BWFC, and Parky, had a big say in their careers.

Would be nice if supporters like you got their head out of Evatts arse and realised how inept the fucker is maybe

You mean supporters like me “judge what we see” rather than calling him shit from day 1 before you’ve even given him a chance? 🤣 🤡 🤡 🤡

It’s Phoenix who should go, he’s the one who’s brought this shower in not Evatt.

My last 7 years before retirement was spent managing venture capital backed businesses. The no 1 trait VCs looked for in management was relevant experience and a track record. So if FV are really true VCs, I just can't fathom backing Phoenix and Evatt who between them have less League management experience than you can count on the fingers of one hand.

FV went of Peter Kenyon’s recommendation for employing Phoenix . Hope he didn’t charge us for it

Can you imagine Rioch Allardyce Greaves Todd perciviering with a mortal weakness like our goalie ??

It's not an insurmountable problem.

It certainly seems insurmountable. He’s been very much a calamitous liability all season but without an adequate replacement we’re bollocksed.

You could argue that they did that with Hill though in fairness

So they tried something different maybe?

As was said earlier by another poster, not many of us had a moan when he was recruited

And what do you see, a master tactician and skilled people person or a man completely out of his depth ?

I know which I see

I’m still very much in Evatts camp. He hasn’t got it right, he knows it and we know it.

20 new players and 10 games in isn’t time to Chuck the towel in. Half this team, TP will have lined up for any manager before IE walked in.

If we pot him before he’s had 2 years, we will have dropped a massive bollock imo

I ain’t happy but managers don’t turn round a club who’ve been in decline for 8 years in 4 months, if you don’t understand that then you know nowt about how football.

Oh that old excuse, anyone with an ounce of sense can see Evatt is drowning under the pressure of managing a club of this size.

He comes across as a secondary school PE teacher doing the job along with teaching Geography to year 12.

Why ?

You know many geography teachers who have got a team promoted from the national league to the FL?

The football he’s coached is there to seen, he has some poor players but you can’t polish a turd especially not in that space of time

Its not always about results, its about getting the best out of what you've got available.  We could have played quite well today and lost 3-2, we'd still be 19th with a terrible record but there'd be plenty fighting his corner that.  At the moment it looks like its boiling down to whether he wants to stick with Crellin, and to a lesser extent Baptiste.  If he drops Crellin and we lose on Tuesday, most fans will have less of an issue (he's unlucky to have his 3 strikers injured).  If he sticks with him and we lose, he doesnt know what he's doing.  As Casino said post-Barrow, he's not under immediate pressure.  If we have the double whammy of Crellin and a defeat on Tuesday (and no league game for 2 weeks), its looking untenable.

Woah.. hang on...after a couple of decent, rational posts, you've now posted some nonsense. He’s not under immediate pressure, but if he loses with Crellin playing on Tuesday, his position is untenable???

Its not so much about having poor players, its about making the most of what players he's got.  That's where he's falling short at the moment.  He signed some poor players (and some good ones) and some of the poor players replaced some of the better players, although he's started to realise his mistakes in some cases.  Despite today, I do think he's getting there slowly, but that's not going to happen until he sorts out the defensive/keeper issues.
