I think it may be minimum of five who played in previous match. It would go some way to explaining why White was brought on if this includes substitutes. A brave decision to bring him on when he did though, maybe leave it until the last 30 seconds! That said, we did well at the end. Minimum of four qualifying outfield players in their starting XI. A qualifying outfield player will be one who meets any of the following requirements: Any player who started the previous or following first-team fixture Any player who is in the top 10 players at the club, who have made the most starting appearances in league and domestic cup competitions that season Any player with 40 or more first-team appearances in their career Any player on loan from a Premier League club or any EFL Category One Academy club. Presumably any non-financial punishments would only apply to the competition involved so wouldn’t be transferable to a league deduction. I'm not really sure if there is a suspended penalty or what could trigger it if there is. It shouldn't become an issue as looking at how broad the criteria for selecting players is we should be able to rest a good number of our better ones.
