I agree with your point but, just so I fully understand, where exactly is this "channel" the pass went ?

I’d say if the ball would have reached , it would have probably hit the top corner of the 18 yard box

Not one inch clearer about this 'channel'.

Go on, for the thick &/or old ... what's a channel on a football pitch ? It's a genuine question.

Ahh right sorry

So take your four defenders, think of channels as the gaps between them

You’ll get strikers who want to run across those defenders, you’ll get strikers who want the balls playing into those gaps , usually a straight ball into a ‘channel’

Santos won’t get beat in the air so you’ll get strikers who want the ball playing into the channel so they can try and beat him to the ball in space, he didn’t allow that either

Aaaah. So it's a pass, into a vacant space ?

Why's it called a channel then ?

Sometimes 'modern' ideas are just bullshit covered in glitter.

It's similar to cricket's corridor of uncertainty outside the off stump.

Well, that's a contentious one because I'd say football also has a corridor of uncertainty.

It's that space that exists at the moment of a low driven cross from near the byline, where it's too far from the goal for the keeper to confidently claim but also simultaneously too close to the goal for the defender to clear without fear of inadvertently deflecting it into his own goal.

Thought it was bang on.

Some of the young gimps slated it on twitter.

(Madine is a league 1 player, always has been and always will be)

Not disagreeing with the article, I thought it was decent, I personally think Madine was better than League 1, unfortunately not a prolific or even semi prolific goal scorer, decent hold up and link player.

Let's not start another Madine debate, that's gone, the future is bright and we don't have to wear shades 😎

It seems hes divided the fans of this lot over here. Seems to do that everywhere he goes.

Seems to be working well with Yates up front for em currently. He became a bit of whipping boy during their bad spell.

No, no, no no, - it's at away games when it's a 10 minute walk to the ground from the boozer you're in and the question is do we get another pint in when it's twenty to three...

Anybody know how long Rico’s contract is, because if it’s only 12 months shouldn’t we be talking about extending it rather than selling him because otherwise he can walk away for nowt?

2 year contract.
