Now I am on record saying he’s the worst player ever to pull the shirt on.

But I said that about Zat Knight once upon a time.

As exciting as a 4 game streak is, I’ve slept on it, had a wank, and think maybe we see where we are at xmas.

Santos has shown he’s capable of being awful. But I’m dead chuffed he’s turned it round.

You got something wrong... surely not. 😂

🤣

Like anyone really thought that was even close to happening.....like EVER !!!

aye, teams who don't spend don't win things

though funny to see money bags Sheff U still without a win, they can buy all the players they like, but they can't buy 3 points

Spot on, Teams with our average spend should be 7th-11th positions anyway......

BIg Spending Sheff United spent a fortune on a Champions League winning striker....they should be demanding much higher....

There's a grave possibility of folk getting carried away after half a dozen good games in essentially a pub league. I like the way he's playing right now, but let's hang fire a bit.

Exactly. nobody knows how we will fair.

As an old duffer told me last night.....league 1 and league 2 is basically just a shit league split in two.

For me if we get offer £500k for him in cash upfront then he goes. that is how we survive

Excellent question. Moneyball is a plan, we have not had a recruitment plan for years, it is a better plan than getting too many players on loan and pissing the money away. It will be interesting when we can spend money whether we can purchase, develop and sell on. Don't forget also we have some excellent youngsters coming through who can also be developed. As for Santos he has been great, now fitter, stronger, better coached and used to the formation. Definitely increased in monetary value if someone comes sniffing. But at the moment he is ours and playing really well!!

He's capable of being great and also of being absolutely shocking.

Moneyball means us selling these guys at the optimal moment. It may well be sooner than we want but that's the game we're playing now.

Half a million would be delightful.

Exactly. Its all a gamble. When his numbers tally theyll offload and move on to the next one. Like buying and selling cars.

Players will come and go.

The money obviously important, but part of this moneyball approach involves having replacements lined up so that your on field successes don't turn round.

Promotion is important as it the financial benefit of it. Wont want to risk that for a smallish lump.

Until we can actually buy a replacement, I'm not sure he will be going unless its truly stupid money. Frees and loans are OK but still a gamble, especially whilst on form and looking a decent prospect.

Santos signed as 19yr old for Peterboro and made over 60 appearances in League 1 before being sold by to Barnet at 21 for £100k.  Peterboro have a good track record of buying cheap and selling on.

Not sure why he has been festering at Barnet for 4 seasons but clearly can play at higher than L2.  Presumably Evatt thinks he can improve him more and so far he has been right.  Nobody will be spending money in January 2021 though.  So he might as progress with us for now.

Spot on. The need for folk to sell off a player who is playing well when no one is circling is a bit beyond me.
