Burndens Bogs
With so many pubs and clubs now closed for good and many more to follow apparently. If you could have one pub or club open its doors again, which would it be? Edited November 28, 2020 by Burndens Bogs

frank_spencer
Jilly's but only if i could go back to my teenage years, I'd fucking hate it now I'm a miserable owd cunt. Nowadays I'm perfectly happy in a pub that's comfy, does a decent pint and i can have chinwag with my mates.

Black Bull (now Il Toro) The landlord used to let us stay as long as we wanted, so we drank and played pool till whenever we ran out of money
Burndens Bogs
Pub - Ainsworth arms, Halliwell Rd Bolton. Spent so many formative years meeting great lads & lasses having banter/beers, with the added bonus of being a Wanderers pub in its heyday. It’s been shut since March and the rumour was it’s days as a pub were over, but has now been bought & will open as a boozer again as soon as the virus permits. Club - Wigan Casino, if I could have just one night in a club again this would be my choice, but I’d have to be 15/16 years old again. I’ve never been in a club with an atmosphere that comes anywhere near it - Magical. Edited November 28, 2020 by Burndens Bogs

Could go in anytime and knew everybody.

I’ve never across a club since with an atmosphere anything like it - Magical. Wasn't a fan of the refurbishment. Nostalgia wise I guess Hawthorns, but doubt I'd be stepping foot in it if it opened. Some things are best left to younger memories. Also, for some.reason I really miss Smithills Coaching House. Again reminds me of being a kid, or happy times with my folks and family. Hate walking past it when I go home and its all flats. Just seems wrong. Looking forward tongetting back to the King Charles in Kings Cross. Some.mental days and nights in there. When it finally shut as a club it got its licence revoked and the licensing committee said that venue couldn’t reapply for 250 years iirc 🤣🤣🤣. You’re not wrong there NIC, when I lived in the area it was like a comfy old pair of slippers - a bit tired & worn out, but very comforting and homely. Posers paradise back in the early 80’s & the birds were mainly all fit little Bucks Fizz lookalikes, with mega short Ra Ra skirts on & headbands - they probably all look like Camilla now 😀 Edited November 28, 2020 by Burndens Bogs

miamiwhite
Stag's Head on Daubhill for me. It had everything going on in there and from there. Endless amount of headcases in there but all very friendly. New Year's Eve in there was stupendously busy especially in the early 80's when I first went in.
