It went downhill the day the Funhouse burned down, folk were spending all day in there for 50p.

I got stuck in there for what felt ages as a kid

There were two sort of U shaped dips you had to run up and grab hold of the ledge to pull yourself out, with a middle bit

Sort of like

UTU

But the slopes coming from the middle weren't as steep

I was a small lad and couldn't get out no matter how hard i tried

Proper panic going on

Health & Safety would've had a field day in that place now if it was still open, some of those slides and the revolving barrel with folk banging in to one another.

The Funhouse was fucking ace as a kid.

Went a while back before 2nd lockdown, the place was deserted.

Icon is a great ride, up there with the best. The Big One has something wrong with it, what the fuck happened to a smooth steel coaster? It is like riding a fucking super speed wooden coaster, it was awful.

35 year old Chinese steel gives it an edge of danger now.

I'm surprised the cat and mouse never came off the tracks

Felt like it was made out of rotten wood, and had 90 degree angle corners that im sure made to carriage tip over slightly

Ha ha. the Mad Mouse, you would've had bruises all over your arms and legs after a ride on that fucker.

Its a theme park not the local fayre mate :D

Same as Alton Towers or summet.

It’s barely a theme park, the pikeys across the road just graduate to there 😁

Health and Safety officers don’t make it out of there

Girlfriend at the time head butted me and gave me a busted lip at the first corner. It’s not like you can tap out though, mouth pissing with blood and had to endure the rest of the ride.

@gonzo have the b&bs closing affected your trade?

window cleaning I mean, not selling oromorph

To an extent, but Im in with 3 property dudes that snaffle them up and turn them in to apartments and flats. Every cloud :)

...my main area of hotels are north shore, Dickson road and lord street. Majority are either small family gaffs that are full all year with regualrs and people heading to events at winter gardens or LGBT and everything that comes with it. Plus a few swingers gaffs etc. All that lot will never die. Struggling now like, but theyll be back.

The hotels most in danger are the big boys that take shit load to run and maintain. Especially now with bugdet chain hotels in town, only the best survive.

Went with a group of lads, about 14 of us to Norbreck Castle 15-20 years ago; all you can eat Christmas Dinner, All you can drink karaoke disco, All you can eat full-English breakfast and a bed for the night all for £30.  It was tired as hell though, proper rough and ready but at those prices, I’m not seeing how they ever survived.

Could it be barrels and food stocks etc. left over from the season/illuminations that wouldn't keep until the spring?

Christmas the last chance to get shut for a least some cash return?

Fucking hell, you should go and work for the Blackpool Tourism Board! 🤣

If you have a spare bit of time have a look at trip advisor and the reviews of norbreck castle.

Rather entertaining :)
