0-5

While out with the dog, I was trying to think of when we last rattled 5 past anyone in the league. The last I could remember was Newcastle 10+ years ago

In the same time, I thought very quickly of 8 teams who have put 5+ past us in the same time.

We've had far too many thrashings in the last decade

Will be interesting to see what team IE puts out for this. Surely most of the problems are at the back so I expect changes there. It might be worth leaving Santos out and trying Taft and Delaney in a back four with Jones at RB and either giving Gordon a chance as a proper LB, or trying Greenidge there. Put Isgrove on the right wing and Fonz on the left and the shape might just look better all round. Ronan, Sarcevic and Kioso in central roles supporting Doyle to attack through the middle, something we’ve been really poor at.

Off top of head Leeds away, think it was under DF

We have just won 5 in a row and you think hes going to start 'trying things'

Cant see it

Have to agree with you, it’s obvious we are improving but still getting use to the formation & style Evatt wants to play, if Tutte had played yesterday would likely have been a different outcome.

Play the same team but put White in the defensive midfield position - hopefully they will have sorted out that dire defence by then. I would drop Crawford and give Isgrove a chance or even Darcy

It has irritated me for decades that we never seem to have the mentality to go for it, to put an inferior opponent (on the day) to the sword.  But other teams take great delight in doing it to us.  We have had a succession of managers, going back to BSA, that are happy to just win a game.  It always seems odd that managers of other teams don't declare at 2 or 3 like we always seem to.  Even in the dark 80s we dished out a few thrashings (6-1, 8-1, 7-2 etc).

In the PL years we were never going to hand out huge thrashings to anyone because, generally, the opposition was always too good.

Since then we've been too shit to hand out thrashings to anyone.

The Walsall coaching team will have analysed our strengths and weaknesses and put together a plan to beat us over the last week or so,

meanwhile Evatt and his band of brothers spent yesterday and day before doing their online shopping to make sure they had enough snacks for the party.

Walsall to win 2-0

Better by the interviewer that.

Didn't ask about potential changes though: given Evatt had identified a big lad up top for them, and our obvious missing of Tutte, be good to have an idea of what he might do to compensate.

I doubt he would be looking to tell the opposition
