Jet2 are very solvent and have been fully ATOL/ABTA compliant.

It's your call re: taking the cash or not. If you push it to '22, you'll end up paying less than you will if booking in '22.

BUT...if you take the cash, don't rebook with Jet 2. JET2 WILL NOT BEAT ME ON PRICE ON THEIR OWN HOLIDAYS!

The problem you have with closing things down, is that it's a lot harder opening them up again.

As @Sweepsays, hols abroad unlikely before September. But, if there's the slightest risk in importing some variant back into country, why would the Govt open up again?

I only book flights

Accom direct

We used to do that in Crete but they stopped holding back rooms from Jet2 to sell to their repeat customers.

Jet2 now have exclusivity.

Add an aside,  a year or two ago,  Jet2 were reporting that the period we wanted was unavailable.  Traf sorted it and for less money.

This is true and the reason J2 said they had no availability is because they hold some back for the trade.
J2 give the trade around 6% discount off retail, which enables us to pricematch or marginally beat them on their own holidays.

The benefit to J2 is that they keep the trade sweet and we do most of the admin
The benefit to the trade is that they get to satisfy clients' demands and still make a small commission
The benefit to the client is that they've got someone to turn to if they need help. People found it much easier to get hold of me last summer than they did manage with the big boys. J2 will have thousands of active clients at any given time. I, sadly, don't

They aren’t going to risk more cost, so some cunt can have a week in Benidorm.

Sensible decision.

I’d only book flights with O’Leary while all this shits going on, if anyone’s flying it’s gonna be Ryanair.

What stands out for her is that the company that runs the airports (AENA?) are yet to commit to the usual summer schedules in terms of contracts.

I don’t know the ins and outs but she tells me that’s worrying a lot of people waiting for contracts to start.

I was optimistic a few weeks ago. Not now.

Just to confirm the first part of this. I moved my holiday with Jet 2 this morning.

I owed £246 pounds on this years .

Moved to exact same dates  for next year . My new balance was short by £26.

Lets hope this holiday finally goes ahead.

Part 2 - if things recover rapidly in Spain by September, I will be giving you a nudge , Traf.

A week in Carihuela  in September would be nice.

Just not in school holidays

Not if you tell them one of them is showing symptoms, has to isolate, and can't go to school

What are the fines like? I fully expect them to crack down on this type of thing given the amount of school time that's been missed.

I can go to Spain anytime (covid permitting) and the flights are loads cheaper in term time, but I just think they may really focus on this.

Plus, I actually don't want my kids missing anymore school. They're thick as fuck as it is.
