Members bolty58
Great player Bell. Anyone ever go to his restaurant in Whitefield (in partnership with Colin Waldron) imaginatively called Bell Waldron? Good place that was. RIP. Burndens Bogs
Great player. Anyone know why he never made the England world cup squad in ‘66? Too young maybe at 20? Or maybe left out to fit more West Ham players in, or perhaps there were better players in front of him at that time. Rip Colin

He was, as you say, only 20, but also still at Bury. He was signed that summer by Citeh, who were then a Div.2 outfit. He made it into the England set up, initially the U23's, in 1968. I'm always up for a bit of an anti-Northern bias rant, but not sure this one fits.
Roger_Dubuis
re Colin Bell at the World Cup He went on as sub for Bobby Charlton with 20 minutes left in the 1970 World Cup quarter final. England were winning 2-1 at the time but the Germans went on to win 3-2 Just saying
