Any sports psychologists on here tell us why, when there are no fans, home or away games make such a difference?

Adrenaline from the crowd triggers motivation which turns into a mental testosterone

Missed Kioso. A lot.

Isgrove is pointless.

No end product whatsoever.

I had the Exeter commentary (BBC radio) on last night and it was far better than the Bolton FM halfwits, but they kept confusing me by saying we had a tricky winger (Isgrove)..

He's all piss and wind.

I'd happily go same formation on Saturday and replace Fonz & Isgrove with Arthur/Thomason and Crawford/Darcy

That makes sense to me, Fonz and Isgrove wouldn't be missed on current form and and any 2 of the other 4 would bring improvement.  It wont happen but I'd rest captain fantastic too and make it 3 of those 4.

Yeh i'd agree with that, we need some energy in the side.

We missed Kioso last night, his pace and willingness to get forward gives the opposition something to think about.

I'm not a Darcy fan boy, I think he's too lightweight, but he can't play any worse than Crawford/Isgrove/Delfouneso have done on a regular basis.

Gilks
Jones or Brockbank - Santos - Delaney - Greenidge
Lee - Tutte -Thomason
Darcy or Sarcevic
Doyle - Gnahoua

Crellin
Jones or Brockbank
Darcy or Sarcevic
Isgrove
Delfouneso
Baptiste or Mascoll
Riley or Crawford

Big ifs......but if we got Kioso back & John is fit & any good, i'd go back to wing backs.

My 3 gripes with that are:  1. I quite like Jones and Brockbank, and would like one of them to be right back, with the other as back up.  If we play with wingbacks that's the end of them (in a position that suits them).  2. Kioso as a wingback doesn't make the most of his attacking instincts; he and the team don't benefit from his game being stunted by extra defending.  3.  We've got loads of options and talent in midfield and we should maximise that by picking 4 of them instead of 3 - especially given that 1 of the 3 is captain (undroppable) and the other 2 pick themselves barring injury.  The likes of Thomasson, Darcy and Crawford should at least be given occasional chances to start a game to prove themselves.

This is why it will be good to have options. It doesn’t always have to be one way or the other. During November we went unbeaten playing 3-5-2, something was working. Yesterday we looked to have potential playing 4 at the back. IMO for what it’s worth John and Kioso would  work better as wing backs.

Our starting formations haven't seen any change from day 1 until last night, irrespective of who's available/picked.  If he's changed formation mid-game fair enough, but win lose or draw its back to wing back for the next game, and the performances over the season dont scream out that its working.  The 4 wins in November were welcome but we played the 3 worst teams in the league at the time, they were losing every week and we took advantage, but the pattern this season is that we don't get many wins against top half teams and we don't lose many against bottom half teams.  The November fixtures helped us go unbeaten and the fixtures since then have seen us struggle for points.  Hopefully the 2 new signings will result in an improvement soon.

Shame I have to go to the effort of researching to show I’m telling the truth. And adds to my suspicion that people come out with wild accusations claiming them as facts when really all it is is wild opinion based upon limited knowledge.

Does beg the question why not do it more often though!

There’s a debate certainly, crossing threads here too! Some like me will think he’s played to the set he’s had, others will think he should have changed sooner/more often.

But some of the factual inaccuracies and decisive statements expressed as an expert opinion when all it is is bluff and bluster is evident with certain posts/posters

We are hardly blessed with options

We have a right back playing left back the right back who is playing right back is only playing because the right back we had on loan has gone back. So we have our third choice right back playing left back because the 2 left backs we signed in summer one has gone the other never got going

Can’t believe there are 2 shouts to have Greenidge as our starting left back 😳

I actually don't think he's done too badly when he's played there.

... although the way Delaney is playing I'd say Greenidge can't be too far away from taking his place in the side.
