Whatever the score, they're doing well.

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted January 16, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted January 16, 2021 Over 80s I think it was. It might actually have been certain parts of the North west, but the point is there: they're doing well.

RoadRunnerFan
Done. Sore arm, no worse than a flu jab. Gassed out early on a 10k run day after could have been the jab or something else. Take it first chance you get folks.
Site Supporter Spider Posted January 17, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted January 17, 2021 Apparently loads of oldies struggling to get to the jab centres. Id happily volunteer to taxi them there and back for free if it’s going to help. Is there a place to offer lifts online?
Blondi
My Mum who turned 80 last December had her Covid jab on Friday at the Halliwell Jones stadium in Warrington, very impressed with how organized they were, her appointment time was 6.10 pm, we got there 20 minutes early, she was allowed straight in and came out about the same time her original appointment time was due. Have a look at their website.

Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted January 17, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted January 17, 2021 Looks like my folks won’t be too far away, they are 70-74 age group so hopefully a couple of weeks. The mrs has had her 1st jab. Once all 3 are done, it will be a bit of relief and feel like life can get back towards normal soon

fatty
It’s a resounding yes from me. From a national perspective I think the anti-vax brigade are a bunch of selfish self-centred twots who’d happily watch someone take a fall for them whilst smirking from the sidelines. From a personal perspective it’s a balancing of risks and one I’m prepared to take. I’ve had mild proper flu once in my life and it was awful so no way do I want to risk something serious like this. I’ve got a bit of asthma and been told in no uncertain terms that I’d be a fool not to have anything I’m offered so get the flu jab every year and never been ill from it. The pneumonia one made me feel a bit crap for a few days and gave me a swollen “on fire” arm for a day. Made me think what the real deal would be like and fuck that ! I read somewhere (may have even been on here) about doctors waiting for the Oxford one before they had theirs and avoiding the Pfizer one - do those in the know think that’s bollocks ? I guess it’s horse 💩 Any side effects reported yet from people who’ve had it ?
