Iirc, yesterday we'd done around 80 odd percent in the North West. Whatever the score, they're doing well.

80% of over 80s or 80% of over 75s? Either or the end is now in sight

aye, a massive relief for me, but also suggests that all the over 80s in the area have already had theirs which is great

Id be shocked

Its very surprising theyve been called, but good luck to em

My Mum who turned 80 last December had her Covid jab on Friday at the Halliwell Jones stadium in Warrington, very impressed with how organized they were, her appointment time was 6.10 pm, we got there 20 minutes early, she was allowed straight in and came out about the same time her original appointment time was due.

Apparently loads of oldies struggling to get to the jab centres.

Id happily volunteer to taxi them there and back for free if it’s going to help.

Is there a place to offer lifts online?

Royal volunteer service has openings for two types of roles. Have a look at their website.

Be a good opportunity to get into some wills as well

It’s a resounding yes from me.

From a national perspective I think the anti-vax brigade are a bunch of selfish self-centred twots who’d happily watch someone take a fall for them whilst smirking from the sidelines.

From a personal perspective it’s a balancing of risks and one I’m prepared to take.

I’ve had mild proper flu once in my life and it was awful so no way do I want to risk something serious like this.

I’ve got a bit of asthma and been told in no uncertain terms that I’d be a fool not to have anything I’m offered so get the flu jab every year and never been ill from it. The pneumonia one made me feel a bit crap for a few days and gave me a swollen “on fire” arm for a day. Made me think what the real deal would be like and fuck that !

I read somewhere (may have even been on here) about doctors waiting for the Oxford one before they had theirs and avoiding the Pfizer one - do those in the know think that’s bollocks ? I guess it’s horse 💩

Any side effects reported yet from people who’ve had it ?
