When I saw the replay, I thought he should have powered the fucker, but he just makes sure he hits the target, which he does, took the safe option and paid for it, but really didn't do much wrong with the header from a striker perspective.

Except miss??

Can only think IE doesn’t rate darcy or something has happened behind the scenes the lad certainly did ok in L1

If something had happened behind the scenes he wouldnt have been on the bench so many times, he would have been given the Taft treatment.  I wouldnt be surprised if Darcy ended up at Tranmere with Chino.

Fair point, just trying to make myself feel better...

I think he was a bit unlucky.

To be fair, I haven’t seen the multi-angled replays we’d have in the Prem but I reckon that clearance would’ve given the VAR geezer something to do.

The key to getting up this league for me is to sort out the Sarcevic issue . While being no better or worse than others so far this season  for whatever reason we clearly are getting nowhere near the best from the lad.

There seems to be no logic to having him sitting so deep when he was brought in for his attacking abilities , and he's now starting to cut a frustrated figure who looks good when we have our tails up but for the majority of the time he's too deep to be helping the attacks .

I'm not sure what the full problem is , whether it's a formation unsuited to him , carrying excess weight or basically being played out of position . I was buzzing when we signed him and I hope we find a way of getting the best out of him but at the minute he's achieving no more or no less than the other midfielders and from one of our marquee signings i think we need to start seeing the lad who was tearing up the league last season .

The one thing with Sarcevic that has been a disappointment compared to expectation is his shooting.  Not once has he let fly and tested the keeper.  Yes he's scored 2 or 3 with average shots, but he doesnt possess a shot from distance, I thought we were buying that but it turns out he joins the list of BW midfielders going back years that cant or wont shoot.

Imo Darcy would bring energy & enthusiasm to our team and he always wants the ball. Anyone who thinks he couldn’t handle Div2 is just talking bollocks imo, he was one of the few shining lights in what was a miserable season for us in Div 1 last term. I can only think theres some sort of personality clash with I.E. I feel for the lad, he deserves a chance this season.

Glad its not just me.  Whenever I thought he got the ball in difficult situations last season he turned it into a positive, I dont know how but he just had a knack of coming out with the ball.  The opposite of most of our team this season, who end up in good positions then turn it into a negative.  A complete mystery how he cant get in this team even when 5 subs are allowed.

Obviously you don't rate Darcy, but he would have no problem in this division, I am pretty sure if he the lad had been given as many chances as Crawford & Sarcevic he would have had a better impact on games and results and would have performed better than those 2, taking in to account on games played so far, that doesn't take much considering they have both been shite at best.

It's not that I don't rate him, he had some great moments last season but they were just that, moments. He's never taken a single game by the scruff of the neck and dominated.

We're too desperate to risk our arses on a 'maybe' like Darcy.

There’s definitely a reluctance throughout the team to take on a long shot. Walking it through the defence every time seems to be the way we like to do things.

I think Crawford had a spell of shooting outside the box early in the season ,  But after hitting anywhere bar the target we kind of gave up.

Or just give him 20 minutes here and there?  A year ago virtually to the day he scored an equaliser at Lincoln from outside the box, I am struggling to think of a better shot in the last 12 months.  But he's too lightweight.

Doyle will end the season with 20 goals

Thats his job done

If we assume strikers carry on at their current rate, Fonz finishes with 15 if picked, so he could say that's job done too as he's got twice as many assists as Doyle.  I'm not disagreeing with what you say - just that if its just stats, Fonz doesnt get dropped, rightly or wrongly.

He is a young lad, other more experienced players should be bringing him along, he will bring players into play, Sarcevic is supposed to get the game by the scruff of the neck, he's experienced and the captain, looks to me like your looking for any excuse to discard him.

Sarcevic has been rubbish. He's been a huge disappointment.

I don't mind people getting upset at Darcy being sidelined, I'm just not as upset as some about it.

He'd have had 15 already if he hadn't had to keep on coming too deep to get involved with moving the ball upfield and, half the time, generating his own chances. He hasn't the pace to drop back to half way, get a move going then be on the end of the cross that results, unless it takes us two or three  more passes to get there.

The support and service to him has been pathetic at times and the team not set up to make the best of his abilities. Let's be clear, he's not a high level operator, his goal ratio when he had a go in Championship, L1, even SPL wasn't great  but at L2 level his stats are plenty good enough.

If he was a 'one in every four' sort of striker Swindon must have made over 100 chances for him last season
