Superb that, not seen any colour images from 58 cup final, one thing would hopkinson’s shirt have been green? Is there anyone can name all the players and the 2 lads without a kit on the right? A friend did this for me - using some software that colour matches - does not always get it 100% spot on , but genuinely dont know what colour of shirt he played in Will put a couple more on - as I say no guarantee that they are strictly accurate but brings the images to life

Yep, no hammers for us... We don't carry hammers, We don't carry lead, We only carry hatchets to bury in your head. 😄

Anyone know what street the row of houses in the background was? This would help locate the exact spot.

Looks good - it's so easy to forget that the dim and distant ones like Pikes Lane or the 23 Cup (presumably that event will get a lot of air time in two years!) actually took place in colour. Mounts - have a reread of the previous discussion topic - I have linked above - @embankmentposted the only other photo I have ever seen of Pikes Lane and that looks like it has the Church behind it ( think it was St Saviours ?) which was on Deane Road , so the question is how do the two pictures line up - I dont know - maybe someone else does ? That might assist in determining the location of the properties you refer to. The picture above is probably dated nearer 1880 when the club moved to pikes lane given the lack of development visible when compared to the other. Be surprised if any of the property survives as the area was massively built over after the club moved out Am sure the people who put the blue plaque on Bankfield Street would have done their research as to where its precise location was Edited January 22, 2021 by Benny The Ball
