A family of five in a 2up2down terrace. Probably as a result, I’ve always got up early. It’s just natural to me. We mostly speak to our youngest in Sydney when he gets up early, 6am, for his morning exercise, and then speak at around 7am. Maybe it’s a working class thing. Born 16 years and 6 months after the end of the war. In pretty much exactly that time later I was starting my working life as an engineering apprentice at Horwich Loco Works.
