Evatt on Gilks FT fracas: “A couple of their players were giving him stick about the mistake but when they’ve played in the Premier League and had the career that Matt has then maybe they can say something but for now I’d suggest they keep their mouths shut”

Evatt showing some shithousery, he's learning.

Camera showed him going over to that Bowery and saying something.

To be fair, my NHF memories are from late 70s and early 80s. Then it was a bit more sinister. Half concealed bricks, glass, tent pegs, barbed wire, everything.

Sliding in a massive white dogshit was like a breath of fresh air.

Played on there few times, think rugby team played on it Saturdays and Sunday pitch ruined but I’m talking about the 80s.

Did he? Just saw the pic, but didn't investigate.

Any way that chant might take off.

He lives down the road,

He lives down the road,

Arthur Gnahoua,

He lives down the road.

According to wiki he was there till 2003, though that would've been when he was 11

Williams did ok for most of the game but he was shit in the build up to the second goal.

Weak challenges allowing their lad to get forward.

Was gonna get to the end but this is a good place

He was poor for the second

But then, when he couldve sulked....he didnt

I think he went up a massive level then

He was more mobile, more aggressive

The long ball for the winner was perfect

Vury impressed and very pleased for him

Oh aye, we have got a very good squad for this league now

Id not be the slightest bit surprised if we went up automatic

I dare say Gilks said everything that needed saying on the pitch.

I'd prefer our manager not to get too emotional, and maybe just offer a gentle smile and a straight bat comment. He definitely gets fired up, and that's great, but he's not averse to strong comments immediately afterwards.

He does have a point though.

Blackburn? 1-0 up; 3-1 down; 4-3 up maybe. Don’t know if that’s the last.

Good shout and that would go down as the best away comeback, especially as it was against them, but we were only 1 behind at half time (3-2).  So had all 2nd half to score 2, only had 15 minutes to score 3 today, has to be a first.

Aye, no doubt it's just raw emotion but sometimes things are best left.

Genuine question, no recent performances have been "better" have they?  Not like we've been convincing to be honest.  Who cares, nobody else is convincing either.

FWIW I think Bolton have played some very good football recently, not world beaters but decent watchable football, today wasn't as good as previous, that can be down to a few factors including the potato field they played on, after today hopefully onwards and upwards

Cracking win that! Massive for our confidence and momentum going forwards, which is exactly what you need going into the second half of the season. Need to build on this and really put some pressure on the top seven 3.

Real strength in depth in the squad now. Don't want to get too ahead of myself but got a good feeling about the rest of the season

We’ve still got to learn a few things to go up  yet but it’s not impossible

Agree on the squad as we have quality subs now. That squad Could be all important at the business end of the season

Finally a bit of luck went our way. Was tempted to turn it off at 2-0 but stuck with it, best win of the season that. Shockingly bad pitch to play on. Very even first half. Slow out of the block in the second half and were made to pay for it.

Hope we can keep D. John on a permanent, thought Jackson was very unlucky to lose his place after a bright start but John fully deserves to keep it. Compared to Liam Gordon he's like Ricardo Gardner!

Doyle wasn't at his best, nor Maddison or Isgrove. Delfouneso had a good game off the bench and Gnahoua with a sublime winner.

Lee was our best player tonight, Santos and Baptiste did well again. Prefer Tutte over MJ still but don't mind him at all. Gethin Jones quietly went about his business well. Afolayan unlucky not to score.

Thomason was unfortunate to be dropped but seeing Lee's performance justifies it and the young lad did well when he came on to see the game out.

Still get the foreign objects. The tractor driven gang mowers make short shrift of bottles and cans leaving sharp pieces. Plenty of sporting gear left now, especially during lockdown/restrictions.

Dog shit is just darker now, making it less visible.

I've taken an hour to digest the game & I still have to ask.... How the feck did we win that! 😁. Still a concern how little we create with so many who should be capable. Gnaouah has earned his place on Saturday, either alongside Doyle or maybe in place of. I think Doyle may benefit from a rest, he's had a long hard season.

I have to say as much as Declan John swung the game, Baptiste was MoM again for me. Just hope this starts our promotion push.

We scored three tonight.

We had 2 shots on target and that includes the first goal.

I was just thinking that.  So one shot on target, 3 goals.

No sendings off.  No pens conceded.  Not even a disallowed goal. It feels like our luck is turning.

Another game where goalkeeping didn't seem to be a big part of the game, for either team.

What a win.

I love Arthur, never fails to make an impact, always the first to be dropped.

Anyone know when we last came from 2 down in the 2nd half to win away?

I seriously cant remember one but there must be.

Someone has already mentioned being 3-1 down at Blackburn in 2004 and winning 3-4.

The only other time I remember was the last day of 88/89. We were 2-0 down at Northampton and won 2-3. It was part of that big long run of unbeaten games culminating in the Wembley win v Torquay. This win tonight betters it because we were 2-0 down with 11 mins to go.

Tonight has been on the cards though really if you look at the comebacks at Barrow and Carlisle. Such an odd season. You couldn't say we've really looked capable of such feats at home!

Just being realistic. 5 points might not seem a lot, but surmounting it means everyone around/above us losing/drawing when we win, which isn't going to happen in this mental League. And bear in mind most of them have got a game in hand on us. I hope I'm very wrong of course.

At the weekend the gap between us and 7th place was 7 points tonight its down to 5 points - thats after 7 of the top 9 played yesterday

This coming Saturday Newport play Forest Green and Salford play Carlisle , and on tuesday its Cambridge v Cheltenham , Carlisle v Tranmere and Morecambe v Salford

They cannot all pick up maximum points when playing each other - and those are just the fixtures in the next 7 days - If we can keep winning that gap will disappear

Remember winning 3-2 at Blackburn in ?62 when Hill played them on his own.

Two good things out of tonight. Firstly someone with a good left foot in John. Secondly, a player with real pace and strength in Arthur. We've needed one for a while.
