I'd rather camp then live up north again.

(Or in Winchester, backwards as buggery)

Haha! 🎣

If you didn't spend so much of your hard earned on an overpriced bedsit, excruciating council tax and inflated bills for vile 'drinking' water you might be able to enjoy a holiday once a decade.

Winchester is lovely as you well know.

I have a huge XL 6 man airtent if you want to borrow one? 👍

The only time I'd camp is if i was guaranteed sunshine and no rain. Until then hotels it is

If you ever go camping and the weather is good, it is a brilliant weekend (assuming most normal folk go for a weekend tops in blighty).

Problem is, 8/10 you experience crap weather up north, probably better odds on the south coast of course.

I worked in Chichester for 4 years, loads commuted from over there, that's all I need to know.

It's delightful, but its not a place I'd settle. Each to their own.

Just as well given the cost of a decent sized house down there.

True, it's tough, we pay 2k a month in rent for a 3 bed house. It's a lovely place, and we love being 20 minutes from central. But there is no mortgage here, future's at the moment are based in 12 months.

You all have a much better balance, your money goes further.

Nope, my ex lives in Canterbury where the kids are at school, so we are here.

We were thinking about buying a place up back up north (thankfully my other half is a northerner) and renting it out until the time comes to move - but that won't be for at the very least until I'm mid 50s.

£2k per month for a 3 bed? That'd buy you about 4 x 3 beds in Bolton or 6 in Darwen.
