I'm not his biggest fan and for me, he doesn't do as much as he should with his talent. We also don't play as well when he's not in the team. Don't know what you've got until it's gone syndrome. I didn’t think Maddison did too bad today, I think the expectation exceeds his ability. He’s with us for a reason and I don’t just mean his so called attitude problems. The lad can see a pass, he’s talented, he’s not match fit and he can hit a dead ball. If Doyley doesn’t miss time his header his corner is perfect. For me today Thomason worked his bollocks off. With Arthur, Isgrove and Sarce able to come off the bench and change things up. We look in a miles better position than a month ago. 4 points from 2 games both with shit decisions costing us a man to see the game out. No need to get overly negative. Mounts Kipper Posted February 13, 2021 Share Posted February 13, 2021 Madisons not been playing so he’s rusty, it didn’t come off today but every pass was forward quite a few 30-40 yards and sent only after a quick glance, seems he’s got vision, lovely left peg, committed, drives forward and brave enough to try the difficult option, he’s going to be superb when the rust is removed. On the face of it I agree, but that's ignoring form. Crawford is also a shoe in for every other team, on paper. Nobody could suggest MM deserves a place on current form, he surely has to earn it. Arthur is playing better than Fonz and the West Ham lad is different class. Sarce has had 4 or 5 decent games all season. I dont think Williams has that in his locker, every time he attempts a forward pass its so cumbersome and laboured the opposition are already intercepting it before he's played it. I remember the frustration of watching Tom Thorpe trot around without ever breaking into a sprint and Williams is cut from the same cloth, its all half paced and weak. He hasn't made himself indispensable by any means. Another of our collection of 'quality players' that Evatt needs to work out how to get the best from. Where I'm at, a bit of a Tom Thorpe, loping around looking tidy enough but slowing the tempo down too much and lacks pace over short distances to get about.
