Last played down here in 91 in the FA Cup, pity the support they brought down here that day will be be missing.

Fuck me, is that really thirty years ago? If my memory serves they brought a load of fans and were hard to beat. Did Coyle score his first for us that day?

No it was a couple of years before Coyle.

You might be thinking of the Gretna game, but Coyle had scored for us early in the season before that. Think his first might have been v Stoke.

Tony Philliskirk header at the back stick, attacking the Lever End.

They had a couple of good results in December, including 3-0 over Cheltenham.

Recent defeats have been quite narrow.

We may have to be patient on Saturday.

Good point that, they've only lost by more than 1 goal twice all season.  We managed it twice in the first 3 games!  And they haven't yet lost by more than 2.

Another low scoring home game is on the cards.

Was the Gretna game in the season when Coyle had the happy knack of scoring in the cup?

Where does the time go eh, wonder what Wanderers fans will be looking back on thirty years from now? I hope it's another rise against the odds up the leagues and a spell of punching above our weight. I also hope I'm still around to look back upon it. 🙂
